MG 5 Excite roof bars / roof rack

Finally sorted roofbars, suction type 40kg max, treefrogracks.eu, just tried them once so far, with a light load 15 kg @ 100kmh for 50k. Dearer than conventional bars, but a lots cheaper than buying the Exclusive, very happy. 2 year warranty, hopefylly I get a lot longer than that out of them...

MG 5 Excite roof bars / roof rack

I tried Nordrive Alumia Silver Aluminium Aero Roof Bars For Opel Insignia 2008 - 2017 | MicksGarage They don’t fit. The rubber feet are a very different shape as the Insignia roof has a “gutter” that the MG doesn’t have. There are other bars out there with flat feet which might fit better...

There’s a chap on the FB group says insignia 2011 roof bars work perfectly for him. I’ve ordered a set and will post how I get on with them.

MG 5 Excite roof bars / roof rack

An OP posted elsewhere that the Sum 104 didn’t actually fit. Plus I tried to get a set but could them find them online. The company that produced them has been taken over. I have been trying to get a set for the Excite from my dealer. I will post the make and model if the dealer comes through.

MG 5 Excite roof bars / roof rack

I’m looking for bars I can remove and put back on quickly. Do you know if its much quicker putting them back up after you set them up initially?

    Roof bars SE?

My dealer will supply and fit for €300. Expensive, but an option if there’s nothing else! A poster on the FB group says Opel Omega bars fit perfectly. Another fella says insignia worked, and another says Summit 104 from Amazon, but fiddly to set up.
