The IM 5 is considerably cheaper and bigger and heavier, it's a shame Tesla ruined their brand for a lot of people.
To get the proven range and efficiency they get out the relatively small batteries their cars have (compared to theirs); it shows how good their package is.
The recently upgraded...
It wouldn't have been an issue if the stated (at launch) OTA update ready had every been enabled but the software is just so flaky that they couldn't risk customers coming out to bricked cars on their driveways after the update had went wrong during the night.
Poor really as other manufacturers...
Totally agree hopefully it's a performance version issue as the more decent motors out there can only be a good thing, the range/efficiency would be more important for me (in terms of real world)

First mention of the single motor, better review.
It's not a great review and top gear isn't the only one criticising the ride of the performance version, that's why I said I'd be interested in the review of the cheapest one as it's on smaller wheels that might help the ride.
Again though considering the battery sizes they are not looking that...
Yet to see a review on the cheapest version, that will be interesting.
It may ride better on UK roads with the smaller wheels, also interesting to see the.efficiencey figures as that is obviously one of the strongest points with the Tesla model 3
I stand corrected, it shows how often I drive the wife's car!!
To be fair why doesn't it? You connect your phone to the car (by Bluetooth) anyway (if you want to use it) why can't it connect to car play or AA in the same way

"It also seems that not a lot of love has gone into the fine-tuning of the chassis, which is perfectly competent but shows little of the dynamic charm or polish you'd want from a performance saloon with a low centre of gravity. The same applies to rolling...
I didn't realise how big it is, looking on the website it is about the same size as the ID7 and 20cm longer than the model 3 and the BYD Seal that will be why they are comparing it to the model S and the performance version to the Taycan.
The model 3 would certainly still win in terms of costs...
