Looks like they underestimated demand. MG UK didn't pre-order enough. Also there is a huge promo on MG itself with the MG6 being launched etc. So maybe they didn't want to clash sales numbers. But of course they are different price segments. Or maybe IM is just overwhelmed on international orders.
I don't think I encountered that problem when I had the MG HS as a courtesy car. Also you forget that the IM is a completely different subrand to MG. It has no commonality to the current MG range.
