If its the same as the mg5, put it in drive then turn the park brake back on.
Accelerate and the park brake releases and off you go.
Or use auto hold if you have it.
Pfl mg5, had it 4 years and the windscreen is intact.
In fact a month after having it a brick hit the windscreen, I was following a skip lorry, it made a massive impact noise and I'm surprised I didn't fill my boxers.

I was going to have a look today, they call it a boot mat but if you zoom in it's a rubber boot liner rather than a carpet type.
