I had no trouble with a 150kW BP charger in Hemel Hempstead last year using a credit card but did with the 7kW EVSE at the hotel I was staying in when I tried to use my BP account.

I do not disagree with your statement about doing a full equalisation is what is recommended in the manual. And that it leads to the most accurate battery capacity and range prediction.
However in my MG4 manual the word 'calibration' never appears in relation to the HV battery only the word...

I think the operative word is 'should'. There are a number of reports in the forum about the failure of the car to charge the 12V battery, including my post last year.
