    Updating the 2024 maps

Welcome to the Forum. Hope you are enjoying your MG4. There is a long thread about updating maps. See here for an option that worked in Germany. https://www.mgevs.com/threads/mg4-trophy-map-update-%E2%80%93-beware.10759/page-18#post-397607 But read the thread (backwards) to view the issues...

Active grill shutters keep opening and closing

@ippy1's car is a UK version which does not have a heat pump so that could narrow down the source of the problem to sensing elements and circuitry or a latch circuit if the shutters have one.

    Shared Digital Key

I think you just get the words no diagram. I have not shared the key, I will try at the weekend, but I had to go through the calibration process with my phone It may be a question of trial and error. Is your phone far enough away not to interfere with the process? Is the car powered up? Has...

    Shared Digital Key

From another thread but not directly about the shared key. You could try the above method. Note the poster has the 100 years theme home page, yours may be the white theme.

    Shared Digital Key

Is the calibration message the same as that you got when you calibrated your phone to allow it to start the car. That is, place the phone in the middle of the steering wheel?

    I-Smart App

Whilst the App has limitations it is useful, particularly the digital key function which at least one poster saved the day when they lost their key fob. I use mine to control charging, warm/cool the car, lock/unlock, check status without having to venture out into the snow/rain. (It's a pity...

    Just placed an order

My car cannot be parked closer than ~8m to the house so l bought an EVSE with no tethered cable. I bought a 10m cable to use with it and carry it with the car if I have to use and untethered EVSE when I am away. (Until recently, for free at Warner hotels.) Plus you never know what some...

    Just placed an order

You should be able to use and EVSE with any Energy Supplier but it will be in 'dumb' mode; that is the EVSE is not controllable via an App/Software interface. Simply, Octopus offer a low cost 'Intelligent' tariff that communicates with your EVSE to control starting/pausing/stopping charging...

12 V Battery Charging System Fault

@MickeySw, you may be right and I agree that 14.7/8 is too high unless it is charging, hence my request for the conditions under which measurements are taken. I have never seen a voltage above 12.8V when using the App so I would say that using the App does not normally trigger the DC-DC...

12 V Battery Charging System Fault

One last thing. I suggest you buy a battery booster just in case. Many of us here have one along with a 10mm spanner and, some, a window-breaker. You can be a good samaritan with the booster because it can start ICE cars.

12 V Battery Charging System Fault

Thanks for your replies, you are providing some very interesting information that has, as far as I know, been reported before. As @MickeySw said above the DC-DC Converter when active provides a voltage of around 14V. The car should activate it when not powered up/connected for charging to...

12 V Battery Charging System Fault

Please add how you measured the voltage so it can be seen if the value you provide comes from the battery or the DC-DC converter. To me, the 14.7V seems too high for a nearly 3-year old battery rated at 65% health. My 23-plate LV battery usually shows about 12.3V when the car is not powered up...

12 V Battery Charging System Fault

Was your car connected to your EVSE when the iSmart reading was 14.8?

Active grill shutters keep opening and closing

@Brandt, do you know someone with the same model to check their shutters? Does the issue happen if you set the HVAC temperature to very low thus inhibiting the heating element if the heating pump in case the heating pump is oscillating between the 2 functions, cooling and heating. (If the...

12 V Battery Charging System Fault

The car does not have to be in READY mode, just powered up or charging to use the DC-DC converter. @DoctorWolf, to see a truer state of the battery the car should be powered off/not charging and you must use the iSmart App / Status page and refresh it a number if times. Or use a multimeter with...
