Which of the new MG4s would you choose?

The Urban can look pretty good. The regular MG4 is just that bit too small for me personally. The combination of a small(ish) boot & no roof box stopped me getting one. I could have been interested in an Urban. But the existing deals just aren't that great. £198 + £198/month on a Frontera...

    I recommend a MG5 as a second car

I've just put a holding deposit on one at my local MG dealership. I've looked at just about every EV in the MG5's price range, plus a few new ones (Frontera, C3 Aircross, Renault 4, Leapmotor B10). And while I don't particularly like how the MG5 looks (it reminds me of a Passat my dad had in...

Saw the new M4 Urban in the flesh today.

I was on my way to view one yesterday. Then I got stuck in that debacle on the M6. Four and a half hours to travel one junction  Maybe next week.

MG4 Urban in UK in February?

They should have just called it the MG Urban. I'm going to head up to a nearby Hyundai dealership on Wednesday to test drive a car there. While I'm up there I'll pop in to the MG dealership next door to see if they have one in yet. Probably too late for me now though as I have less than two...

Not bad. It'll be interesting to see how these figures change as dealers start discounting or adding deposit contributions.

You Tube video reviews - MG4 Urban

I know it's early and the offers will probably get better, but Guru mentioned leasing.com in his review, so I've just had a look. 1+47, 12k miles, Comfort Standard Range, £336.79/month. Ouch. For context, that makes it more expensive than the ID.3, Cupra Born, Ford Explorer, Skoda Elroq and...

New MG4 EV Urban - Now on MG website.

That's a big boon over the similarly sized (and priced) Vauxhall Frontera. Owners are reporting pretty awful winter efficiency on that, probably because a) it doesn't have a heat pump and b) it's shaped like a Duplo car. Fingers crossed for some keen lease deals on this one. I like what I see :)

    MG4 Urban 0-60/Range

I will never forget a trip up to Teeside from the midlands in my Zoe for a friend's wedding. I was getting far better than expected efficiency, so I skipped my planned service stop & went for the next one. I got there to find that someone had smushed a Cream Egg into the AC charge connector...

    MG4 Urban 0-60/Range

Performance & range seem fine. The current (and upcoming) competition aren't much different, i.e. Renault 4, Frontera, C3, Panda, Polo, Epiq. The list price is a little on the high side by comparison, but no doubt there will be discounts from day one. These are cheap family-oriented EVs...

Adding rear speakers to the SE

I'm going to try and turn this weird oversight in to an asset :p Mount a cheap old Android phone to the dash somewhere, connected to a Bluetooth speaker in the rear footwell. Set up IFTTT rules to connect everything up when I get into the car. Use the old Android phone to play kids music into...

    Running out of Electricity!

Ha. Yeah... never try that. I remember one particularly unlucky journey in my Leaf where 3(!) rapid chargers in a row were out of order. In Cornwall, which doesn't exactly have an abundance of chargers as it is (or didn't at the time). I had a choice - knock on doors until someone let's me...

Nov 17th Budget - Tax impact for EVs

Goes a lot further than I thought it would. Really surprised about the change for pre-2017 cars. That's going to raise a pittance and brings up a weird existential question about why, under a system which uses tailpipe emissions to determine the applicable rate, a vehicle which emits nothing...

    MG4 vs Ora Cat ?

I don't hate how it looks (except the back end - butt ugly :ROFLMAO:). Interior looks nice, and a great amount of kit in there (inc. stuff that MG aren't including on the 4, like one-pedal driving and voice control). Three-phase charging (11kW only?) seems to be supported, which is a welcome...

Nov 17th Budget - Tax impact for EVs

About the worst I would expect is the immediate application of VED to all BEVs registered on or after 01/04/17, alongside the application of the additional rate for all new registrations, where the list price is over £40k. BEVs will either attract the alternative fuels rate, or be given a new...
