This is a known fault with the 23 trophy mine and several others developed this fault after a few months. It needs a new charge control unit.

On the ZS you had to put in the space to get it to look up the full post code eg TR 16 6PS

If the regeneration effect is strong enough the brake lights should illuminate. Some early MG5s had to have a software update as it wasn't working on them. Could it be a similar situation ie a software cockt up?

Note there are chargers at Sainsbuurys at Exeter if the services are busy ,which they tend to be. Also instavolts just down road to Plymouth. Also beyond Plymouth new MFG chargers at the shell service station

MG4 Trophy With 11kW on board charger Registered March 22 Problem started beginning October Been in garage till end October.

It's not your zappi it's the car there are several cars with the bigger battery se and trophy ( including mine) with 11kW on board chargers which are failing to charge for more than a few minutes on AC before the car stops the charge. DC charging is unaffected . MG might be on the case but...

Have you by any chance fitted or have range extenders to your house WiFi system the things that plug into the mains and send the signal via the wiring as these have caused this sort of thing to happen in the past

Used MFG at Cribbs causeway, Desford Crossroads, Crow Green? all no problems and up to 130kw with MG4

It should do as long as the traction battery is at a reasonable charged state and there's not a fault in the system see MG4 manual page 23 Intelligent Charging.

If you're charging on home point @ 7kw the car will get to near 100%then go down to 2.6 kW ISH then 300 Watts for as long as it takes to balance or it did on the MK 1 ZS

I don't think the charging speed quoted is a myth ,just you started at to high a battery state of charge and probably a cold battery the charge speed for the trophy battery certainly isn't a myth see pic
