Haha. Thanks for everyone's kindness on here - it goes a long way. Happy with the car just very frustrating when you have to argue over tiny things like this. Yes, we bought a cheap car and cannot expect 1st class service, but it's not hard to show some understanding for customers. It took me...
I was fuming at how corrupt it all felt. It felt so wrong putting it through insurance but we at the time felt like we had no other option (we were also under a bit of time pressure). The profiteering that happened throughout the entire process was disgusting.
After just one month of use, the charge port door / charge flap mechanism stopped working. The 'receiving' end on the car 'fell' into the car'. The pin and door itself are still in excellent condition.
There is now just a hole where the mechanism used to be. I booked it in with MG Bristol North...
Hi all!
We just took delivery of our replacement MG5 and it has a ‚bump‘ in the footwell behind the driver’s seat (right). It’s hard to capture, so I took a video.
Has anyone experienced this before or happens to know what‘s underneath? Would be nice if it’s as simple as lodging something back...
I haven't forgotten - will post pictures soon. The last couple of weeks were quite the roller coaster. Insurance promised a 'new vehicle replacement' only to later came back to us to say all MG5 are out of stock and that it has now been discontinued (which we knew). We then rang countless...
Yes, we considered this as well. The insurance company were really not budging on options (I am quite persistent) and we'll now have to accept it's gone. They'll source a new replacement for us (same make and model). So fingers crossed! As horrible and ridiculous this is, I don't have the energy...
Brace yourselves: This story took a turn for the worse. Turns out connections on the HV battery have indeed been damaged and there was water ingress into the ports. They said because they cannot exclude the possibility of water having entered the battery, they had to disable the vehicle...
Dropped it off today - it's due to be looked at tomorrow. Person at the counter (Drive MG Bristol North) was lovely. When I said the reg he said 'oh, that's brand new!'. I explained the issue and he immediately said they are not going to charge me for diagnostics and crossed it off the invoice...
Thanks for this - and you're right; it is just standard procedure. I should learn not to keep banging my head against this brick wall and just accept it. Stubborn me... :)
I shall report back once it's all done.
Bristol Drive North. Had a great experience on the sale. Bit traumatised from my previous dealership experience with Nissan & their useless diagnostics. I guess I’ll have to give them a chance; thanks for your opinion :)
Hi all,
I mainly need a bit of emotional support and vent. Picked up a brand new MG5 Trophy three weeks ago and am driving it with more care than any car before - never bought a brand new car before this!
Then, one morning this week, I approached a small obstacle in the road. It looked small...
