Will arc Only when the car connector is removed whilst charging/discharging. It would be prudent to stop the charging first. Yes I would have thought the connector lock was a simple solenoid latch, I had one replaced on my zappi charger and it was very simple and a small box.
For me the orange bar appears randomly and very infrequently about once every 2 or 3 months. Regardless of SOC or weather. Reverts to green next time screen switched on. Also very, very infrequently the info screen goes blank.

I bought a 3 pin socket adapter lead from tough leads for plugging into my MG4 for emergency loads, a lot less than the MG version. I was very impressed, it is chunky, tough and well made. I also would always use this company rather than risking a foreign one.
That is dicy.. you will get to know over time what the car will do especially if you know the route but also allow for the weather, wind, rain and temperature.. I've been caught out almost with a strong tail wind on the outward leg and the same headwind returning, the difference is remarkable.
Sounds to me like your battery sees a load and continues charging.. hence the lower power. You can stop this in the zapping settings somewhere. I use intelligent go so a bit out of touch with drilling down in the zappi.
Have you tried using the cars scheduling? That may work..
The ability to change the charging power on the app, instead of messing around inside the car.. even then it often reverts to full power ie 7kW if for any reason the charging is paused eg in octopus Intelligent go mode. This would enable me to elongate the charging period and enjoy cheap...
