    MG4 best efficiency kWh/100km

When I forget to set “Eco” mode, that’s about my short trip average too.

    MG4 best efficiency kWh/100km

Very nice. My 2021 ZS EV Essence averaged just over 14.5 kWh/100km before replacing it with the MG4 Essence 64. Expecting 17-ish from the MG4, I am very happy to report I am seeing 13.6 kWh/100 km on trips of around 40 km on suburban streets (speed limits from 40 kph to 80 kph), Gotta be happy...

    MG4 in Australia

Type 1, 2, & 3 batteries refer to 1 the 51 kWH LFP battery in the Excite 51, 2 the 64 kWH NMC battery in the Essence 64 and 3 the 77kWH NMC in the Essence Long range 77. Corindakev, Thanks. This forum is excellent. May I ask where this information is published? Or even better can it be deduced...

    MG4 in Australia

Thanks wattmatters, NMC is a chemistry. The Owners Manual says nothing about chemistry, but Types 1,2,3. I can find nothing that relates vehicle to Type. The local unit is 3-phase, capable of 11kW on a mate‘s EQC. Me: 5.1. :) Also tested on a 1-phase home EVSE, same result for me.

    MG4 in Australia

I have owned my MG4 Essence 64 for just over 3 weeks and it is time for its first charge. Everything worked to plan (as you would expect) and the app noted a 5.1 kW "Charging Power". Not quite the 6.6 kW I expected. I read the Owners Manual and it is good but talks about "battery types 1, 2 and...

    MG4 24 Month Service Interval.

Thanks, I have seen that. Relying on EDM seems lazy. Marketing and Service are quite different parts of MG; I would be far less inclined to send emails to the recycle bin if the were Service Alerts than Marketing Fluff. anyway, thanks for replying.

    MG4 24 Month Service Interval.

I just took delivery of my Dover White MG4 Essence 64 (Australian names) and walked through the servicing interval with the sales guy. What he couldn’t explain (not a sales issue) was how I would be notified of software updates that I may need/want between services. I cannot see anything (yet)...

    Charging practice

Hi Cliff, et al, I have had my ZS EV since January 2021, so just about 2 years. I have only done 12,000 km and by choice charge to 100% as a matter of course. My three main reasons 1) battery degradation is of little concern given my driving habits 2) I almost always use a 7kW AC charge point...

    Battery charging beyond 80 percent

Just to add … I always charge the ZS EV to 100% on the 7 kW AC wall unit. I usually cut the 75 kW off at between 80% and 90%. This is more to do with cost and time rather than battery concerns. All my Tesla mates and the EQC400 owner friend argue black and blue that I should follow their lead...

    Charging - locked or unlocked

Charge rate depends on many variables. In my expeience, when the state of charge is just under 50%, the MG EV will gladly draw 60 kW; slowly reducing until we hit 80% soc when it drops to less than 10 kW. The air temperature where I live is nearly always between 20C and 30C during the day.

    Charging - locked or unlocked

Based purely on experience, with no reference to software levels, my ZS EV (MY21) will only charge at a DC charger when the car is locked. I have never set off any alarms when I lock myself in at the local Tritium 75kW station. The charging is halted should I unlock the car mid-charge. As I...

New ZS EV supplied with wrong mats.....

My experience reflects yours AK OK. I bought my MG ZS EV and added floor mats. The mats were embroidered MG ZS and failed to fit in every respect. Obviously not EV. On returning them, the parts manager rolled his eyes and explained that the wrong part had been ordered. The part numbers are...
