Test your MG4 battery to understand low range

Yes, that's a feature inherent to batteries. Batteries are dependent on chemistry, which is dependent on temperature. This is why EVs lose a chunk of their range in the winter. Their capacity (in kWh) doesn't change, but their efficiency does.

Test your MG4 battery to understand low range

Regarding the kWh/100km figure: is that measured as the energy supplied by the battery, or the energy put into the motor? Because if it's the latter (and I suspect it is), then it doesn't include all the energy used by the rest of the car's systems (aircon, lights, power steering, etc), and it...

MG4 - How do I turn it off..?

Fair enough. This could be solved relatively easily by MG putting an "off" button on the main screen. Perhaps they could put it next to the "Load driver 1 preferences" button that many of us would also like to see... :)

MG4 - How do I turn it off..?

Agreed; I'd like to be able to do that! But the original post talks about turning the car off while unloading. I'm assuming that keeping all the lights on while unloading is less of an issue?

MG4 - How do I turn it off..?

If I've understood correctly, the car is designed for "not ready" mode to be used instead of truly "off". "Not ready" mode occurs whenever the driver's seat is empty; and as you know, "ready" mode can only be triggered by sitting in the driver's seat and pressing the brake. So my question is...

Unintended acceleration in 2024 MG4 Trophy LR

Is your driveway on a slope by any chance? I've found that the car will keep the parking brake on in both Drive and Reverse if you're doing a hill start, but will auto-release it once you tap the accelerator.

    MG4 EV speed limit issue

Yup; it's one of the things I always turn off when I get in the car (along with LKA). It's just too unreliable to be useful. I use Waze for all non-trivial journeys (other navigation apps are available), and that has reliable speed limit info on it.

Retention / Saving of Driving and Safety options ?

Yes, with practice though it takes seconds, not minutes! I set the lane-keep assist (LKA) to alert, so it doesn't twitch the steering wheel; and I turn off the setting to display speed limit signs, as I've found it to be far to unreliable to be useful - and I use Waze most of the time anyway...

    Wish list of MG4 improvements

A physical button to turn the fog light on and off. I've only needed to use the fog light once so far, but the on-screen button is all but impossible to use reliably. Too small, and too far away. Light above the rear seats (as many others have mentioned). Option to make the left-hand shortcut...

    !!! MG4 COMMUNITY SURVEY ? We need you !!! (only 28 British votes/150)

Done; thank you for organising this. I had to fudge some of the answers. Re government grant: I answered no, but I lease the car on salary sacrifice, which is effectively a tax break; so does that actually count as a grant? As someone else mentioned, I've had no contact with MG at all as the...

    Roof bars

Following on from a number of previous posts (here, here, here, here and here), I contacted MG UK to see if there was any change in the official advice about fitting roof bars to an MG4 in the UK (which up to now has been: you can't). They said: I asked if this would have any effect on my...

    Temperature Display

Yes. Also, the external temperature is visible in the app - as is the internal temperature, though it's often wrong.
