Thanks would be good to hear about your experience on the Tesla chargers especially!
Super update thanks! Did you have a tag to speed up payment at tolls or was it not an issue really? Also what kind of consumption were you getting? I’m going in winter so it’ll only be worse ? but good to...
Soo - I’ve had exactly this issue. Is it fixed by disconnecting the 12 volt? Mine was. Had a lot of discussions with MG who said ‘connection issue between the RBRM and the main infotainment unit’ aka a usb connection that needs re-seating. This is a what MG Richmond have kindly done...
Thanks for this, really good points. Will tinker with the ‘preheat battery’ function 10 mins or so before charging stop to see if this makes any difference!
Thanks Danny, this is exactly what I was looking for. Really good read. To pay it back to you, I’ve discovered how to get the superchargers to work on my ZS. Worked with Chorley on this. several systems will need updating, but after this the tesla system will be accessible, can be done at...
Thanks, wasn’t entirely sure if I was the only person thinking about this. Have a flair for the dramatic ?. Glad that you don’t think it’s insane - just don’t want to get stranded is all. Do please let me know how you get on. You planning on using the Tesla network, or Ionity, or something...
Dear All,
Just thinking about using my ZSEV LR to drive to the ski slopes next February. A Better Route Planner says it should be doable - and all the big tesla hubs are available for everyone to use.
Does anyone have any experience of driving long distance in Europe/Alps in their MG? Is...
Useful summary of the details from Ricky Roy here…. CCS using type 1 not type 2 is significantly worse I think. Probable because home power in us runs on 110 volt not 240 volt - and in Europe three phase is common so type 2 is a good standard.
Have a super time. Access to all of these? You’ll...
Agreed on all these points. The thing that isn’t widely realised is how much cheaper it is for tesla to install their super chargers, so if demand increases they can put more in. They have vertical integration of all hardware, install units in a modular fashion (not individually) and have...
The number of open chargers at Tesla in the UK are quite low, but looking at Europe, they’re everywhere. For a reliable network with abundant charging stalls it’s much more feasible to travel if one has access. Newer models are less likely to have an issue-but it’s a huge advantage if mg...
MG Burnley are amazing - only downside is that they're so far from me in the South...
From the efficient booking of the service - to the step by step updates from Kalieghd, to super organisation of the service by Miles and the rest of the team, I was very well looked after. Olivia also really...
The forum member was me!!!
Can’t speak highly enough of Miles and his crew, really nice to have reliable supercharger access. I had one of the very first ZSEV's in the country - before Tesla got going on opening the network. Cars sold subsequently (like the ZS SR) have likely all had the...
To be fair - I had the same experience at MFG chargers, where the car was simply not recognised and the session just timed out. Might have been my dodgy onboard charge controller that’s now been replaced of course… thing is it’s not just me with occasional iffy charging at MFG too I think.
