So it’s a MG4 SE long Range, but it doesn’t have a rear wiper and the garage mentioned that when one for the charging units go all 3 go. So I guess that means it’s an earlier MG?
AA came out and looked and did all the normal checks. They’ve said it needs to go back to the dealer. Contacted the dealer (who only gave it back to me a week ago after having it 2 months and supposedly fixing it). Their next slot is 5th June, the next nearest dealer's next slot is 25th of June...
I know this post is a little old, but I have had a similar problem and I have been trying to work out how common it is. See my issue with my MG4 in the following thread:

I got my car back from the dealers last Saturday 13th April they said they’d replaced the charging units. It lovely to get it back and drive it. It charged when we got home for 3 days and then stopped again. Wouldn’t charge on our Type 2 home charger or our granny charger. We went out to public...
My car is due in at the dealers on Monday (5th Feb). So lets see what they say!
As a newbie I also have similar “what does it like best” questions. What I do with our granny charger when we get back home is plug the charger in unpowered while the car is 'on'. Then turn the plug power on. Then I...
Hi
I use a granny charger to charge my MG4 SE Long Range and this morning it was making a clicking noise like a fast metronome and was not charging. I swapped the extension lead but no luck. I then went to a nearby 50kW charger but no luck and then the 22kW charger next to it. It made the same...
We were -8°C last night. Even with a charger cover and silicon spayed in it would not shut after charging. So drove off with it open. When was at destination about 20 minutes drive later it then would close. So it’s not a ,
“can’t use” issue but it is a bit of a design issue if you live...
So I bought some silicon grease off Amazon (see picture) and sprayed it into and onto the charger door latches and this seems to have worked. Also bought a magnetic charger cover which looks really neat and I'm hoping this will limit water getting in and then freezing, at least a little. We'll...
Thanks for all the replies. Good to know I’m not alone! I will try the silicone option and also get a charger cover. -7°C last night and still -5° as I write this. Flap won’t close 🙄 I think car manufacturers need to move away from this imitation copy of a fuel flap approach and design something...
Hi we've had our MG 4 for just over a month now. Since the temperatures dipped below freezing our charge door will not close on its latch after charging. It will lock, so can hold it in and then lock the car. Then if unlock the car it will pop open. If noone is about to close it manually before...
Hi
We've had our MG for just over a month now and we have to turn it to just alert whenever we leave home. But often forget, fine when there are 2 of us as the passenger can do it, but a pain when just a driver. We live in Scotland on narrow country lanes with ALOT of pot holes and flooding on...
