It isn't neccesary that it is the sensor. It could also be a fault in the software translating server data on your display.
The fact that it shows high temperatures when it is really cold is a known stupidity of the app. It loads all old data first before it finally gets to the most recent.
In these conditions it means it is below zero. Battery performance goes down the drain. Combine it with wind and you will be surprized. Even more if you need to take the motorway.
T=-5, 15 cm snow, wind south-east force 3 (head wind for me in the morning), heating at 18 degrees, average speed...
Odd. I'm mostly traveling motorways with daily distances of 170 kms. We had serios frost, snow, always a couple of storms. Corrected for charge losses my average is close to 17 kWh per 100 km.
