Do you mind , .... I was enjoying a bit of solitude and eating my sandwiches in a bit of peace and quiet. Find your own planet , this ones occupied ! Which sounds a surprisingly a bit right wing , and nationalistic, don't know what's wrong with me , too many bad influences ?

Has the suspension been changed on the 2026 MG4?

Where it now resides in a basement of the Council buildings of Pan Galactic 3 in the Rigel constellation where it can be accessed by anyone in person in the sporadic Council opening hours. RIP Douglas Adams . ;).

Has the suspension been changed on the 2026 MG4?

I could not find the original MG spec sheet to compare and had to use a 3rd party one. I concede that yours is the correct official value , but it does not tally with last weeks weighbridge readings.? Its also deflecting a bit from the question of ride quality and whether or not the suspension...

Has the suspension been changed on the 2026 MG4?

The 64kwh SE LR was 1648kg which in the context of the earlier question , if they have the same suspension , which I assume they have, then the newer version will sit just a tad lower on its springs which might just be enough to improve the ride to a point where its noticeable over the older...

Has the suspension been changed on the 2026 MG4?

MGs own specs for the newer 64kwh trophy are 1765 kg , whilst I thought my earlier 64kwh was 1665 kg . This I verified as near as damn it, by taking the opportunity last week to drive onto a weighbridge.

Has the suspension been changed on the 2026 MG4?

Its said that the updated version has a better ride quality ( less choppy ) than the original . Do you think they have changed ( tweaked ) the springs and dampers , in which case would they have differing part numbers ? or would the extra 100 kg or so of weight in the newer version take up some...

MOT Fail! Lower Suspension Arm Bushings

I had done myself all the normal checks , well those you can do with the car on the ground with dodgy knees and a bad back , but the belts and braces inspection was because of the time difference between the official MOT and the expiry date of the suspension parts warranty. These of course are...

MOT Fail! Lower Suspension Arm Bushings

Just got back from a pre- MOT inspection at 33 months old ( our official 1st MOT is 48 months ) with instructions to the MOT guy to check all the things on a 36 month warranty...... and after clouting a kerb with both nearside wheels . ( the less said about that the better ). And everything...

    Might Switch To Full EV?

He looked more pissed off than pissed? We stopped a couple of miles further down the road just to confirm we all saw the same thing and not dreaming . Well before mobile phones so the immediate call to the Bobbies was put on hold , and there was no consensus of going back and having a fisticuff...

    Might Switch To Full EV?

I always kept factory but friends used to change to Motad or Harris , the only options at the time. One of our standard roads was towards Preston over Belmont passing Abbey village , again at the time all NSL. Abbey village is a row of terrace houses ( 10 ish ) and one evening a bloke stood...

Indicators on all the time (all 3 nearside and fixed on rather than flashing)

If its driveable park it in the sun with the bonnet open and use a leaf blower in the "engine" bay and anywhere you might think the electrics got wet. As webhiker says it sounds very weird. If the DC converter is still trying to charge the battery and the water is creating an earth path ? when...

What I don't understand about these 'safety' features.

When road planners/ councils set speed limits they have to account for the different road conditions, temperature / night day/ humidity etc and the various skill sets of those using the road. To accommodate the lesser amongst us that would mean pandering to the lowest common denominator which in...

What I don't understand about these 'safety' features.

The Manchester Police used ( maybe still do ) to run a annual bike day . Around 30 bikers would attend and on 40 mile mixed ride you would be assessed on your awareness , techniques , control , positioning and speed . After and during a large Police sized rationed lunch you would have an...

What I don't understand about these 'safety' features.

Before the days of Police body cameras, radars which record , and speed traps in general the officer could have some discretion as to give you a ticket or a lecture. Now it seems that option has been severely curtailed, with everything on a digital device which is available to senior officers...

What in your life apart from your MG have battery packs?

C,mon don't be shy, 17600 members and none of you have been to Ann Summers ? In case you're asking .... no ..... but could be handy for getting the air out of small patches of just laid concrete. 😀

Can you help estimate battery health for me?

Find an independent local garage with a decent professional OBD reader , drop them a few quid for a quick plug in and read. ( if it's not as expected, try to get a printout ).

Or, the old Gypsy trick of having a 45 gallon barrel filled with water hidden in your load then when unloading a lorry load of scrap steel at the scrapyard removing the drain plug to accumulate the before and after weighbridge readings.

    What Are You Drinking Tonight?

Not sure could be a French brewery. The French and Multi- Nationals tend to use glucose/corn syrup to increase the sugar and ABV as well as malt. As a bit of a beer snob I prefer the German ( lidl ) based breweries who by German law can only use malt. Next time I see it I'll try to take a...

    Weight for it

About 60% , which is a damned good question ? E = MC 2 which means energy should have mass . Somebody else can work it out exactly, but in everyday use , having a fart and opening the window should in theory make the car lighter than running down the battery. 😀 Next time I'll go to...

    What Are You Drinking Tonight?

Some of the bigger supermarkets have a wider range of selections . The highest ABV I've seen is 15% . Not partaken in that one , stronger than a lot of wine , although must admit , it keeps winking at me when I pass by. Even Lidl do 10 and 12% versions , again not tried.

    Weight for it

Just picked a couple of sacks of sheep food from the feed mill were they have just installed a weigh bridge with digital readout. Before loading, stopped on said weighbridge and the total came to 1780 kg . Knock off 100 kg of Lancashire beef stock in the drivers seat and around 15 kg of dog...

What I don't understand about these 'safety' features.

Many years ago we had a small contract job at BNFL . There was a two hour induction course before we were allowed into the main buildings to do our job . Part of the course was listening to all the different alarms ( about 15 ) which could go off and what differing procedures to follow on...

What Made You Choose An MG?

The badge was a small factor but as a lot of Citroen/Renault drivers point out in car parks, and this is a loose translation missing out the unspoken knowing smirks and slight nods of heads, "It iz very nice, mais eez not a vrai MG, c,est Chinois, iz he not?" 🤷‍♂️ Still practising, but not...

Test your MG4 battery to understand low range

The OPs high school maths in #4 are basically faulty , two minutes on a calculator putting in different values for the constantly changing kwh/100km value ( the final value is not an average in real life ) and a constant kilometric value gives different results , not even accounting for regen...

Urgent Help Needed – Sunroof Leak Unresolved Despite 1.5 Years of Follow-Up

As Biker 67 says but use some strimmer line which you will need to stretch out to de-coil , and also round/smooth off any sharp ends. An air line or some of that compressed air in a can for blowing out computer fluff could blow or loosen any obstruction. If the sunroof has two drain points...
