Hi Nic, Thanks for your positive comments. Yes I do have a spreadsheet, I was career military so good pension but not wealthy, so there was a real need to assess projected outgoings & incoming and understand what was available to spend in the long term. Consequently I took a big leap and retired...
And as I recently found out, if you don’t remove the charging plug when you unlock the car it will time-out and relock the charging plug after about 30 seconds, preventing plug removal even though the car is unlocked. I got round this by relocking then unlocking the car, the charging plug could...
We’ve just completed the outbound leg of our first long road trip in the PHEV. Lots of researching and planning to get refuelled and recharged at the optimum locations along the way. The trip took us from Norfolk UK to Portsmouth where we refuelled then fully recharged on a PodPoint charger...
This company: Tough Leads
is my go to supplier in the UK. No use to you in OZ but it does give you an idea of what specialist suppliers are supplying to the EV market. I’d guess there are equivalent suppliers in all countries you can locate with a google search.
AliExpress was recommended to me by a forum member (thanks Ian), for sourcing the many accessories that are becoming available for the HS. I downloaded the AliExpress app which was easy to use, and paid by PayPal. It took about two weeks to arrive, no import customs was payable. I can’t fault...
Had a new glitch today. Mid journey about 3 hours in, the display froze on the media page, audible navigation commands still working but no amount of button pushing would override the media display page. Pulled over and went straight for an infotainment system reset, press and hold the home...
I tried 19 degrees set both sides this morning with an outside temperature of 11 degrees C, but “EV mode not supported”. However, after 2 or 3 minutes I was able to select EV mode, so minimal delay.
Glad your enjoying your PHEV, I wish I had as many opportunities to run full EV but the UK winter is forcing the petrol engine to run for the first few miles of every journey. Also my solar is barely producing anything on these short, grey, Winter days. But heading for warmer climes soon!
Hi Ian, Ferry to Santander then drive down to Torre del mar in a day. This will be the first long, long, long motorway speed journey the MG has done. Cold for the first 200 miles, then hopefully sunny and warm for the rest, I know fuel consumption will be poor but once arrive we will be using EV...
Off to Spain for three months shortly, can’t have this happening so Araldite now applied to all four caps to try and hold them in place. Hopefully it will be a recall in due course as it's safety related.
It looks like the each housing has only been stamped on one side, which would appear to be...
Hi Ian
Yes the red black interior has a very premium look, I held out and paid over the odds to get it. This will be the first trip to Spain for the MG, but yes we have been Wintering in Spain for 8 years now. It’s a rented Villa so we don’t control the electricity tariff but I have convinced...
Hi Jock
yes, looking forward to some cheaper EV motoring in Spain, can’t wait to get the pan roof wide open.
I thought you user name was a nod to those who would understand, I served also, but as an MEA (I prefer Mechanician but few people even remember that title).
You were right, I’m Pete...
