    MG4 solar charging

If you use an EVSE like a Zappi then it has, the ability to use only excess solar power,( eco++) or some battery and mostly solar power in Eco mode. There is a fast charge setting too, and you can set the amount of power it will draw from the batteries to whatever percentage you want. I am sure...

    MG4 solar charging

I have an MG ZS EV, and live totally off grid. We charge our car from our solar system with a zappi EVSE. The Zappi has settings to allow you to just use excess solar or to use some grid and some solar power. I have a battery inverter that pretends to be the grid and two second hand grid...

    No Electronic parking brake

Yep I go along with videoantti. Have the 12 volt battery tested fully. It needs to be load tested and also checked to see if it has any internal faults. Batteries can develop faults internally in the connectors that join the plates. Cracks in the connectors can open up and close causing...

Question of the removal of the inner panel on the tailgate.

One way that you could run the reversing light that would not damage anything is as others have said using a relay. This would mean running a power feed from the 12 volt battery back to the light via the relay.'Then if you know anyone who is handy with electronics then get a Light dependent...

Question of the removal of the inner panel on the tailgate.

I am not sure about your plan. I don't know much about modern car electrics but from what I know the modern electrics are not like the old stuff. They are microprocessor controlled with minimal wiring, so it is not possible to just splice into the loom anymore. I suggest checking with an auto...

    Passenger window failure

These cars do some strange things. We had our 12 volt battery changed a few weeks back. The shop used a small battery to keep the car alive while changing the battery. But after the battery change the mirrors stayed folded in. ( ZS EV gen 1) We drove off and about 200 metres down the road the...

What is the lowest charge you drive to?

We live off grid and 38 kilometres from our nearest town that has charging facilities. So we don't let the battery go below 100 kilometres range if we can help it. As we are on solar power and not grid we like to keep enough charge in the car for a trip to town and back if we need it.

What should be in the boot?

We have a 2021 ZS EV Australian version. It came with an MG granny charger ( 8 amp) a pump and repair goo to fix a flat. We really don't like not having a spare tyre so bought one from the wreckers ( full size) and put it in the boot, with a wheel brace and jack. It fitted easily once we took...

    MG5 Rats Help!

Our ZS EV was damaged by Rats. They ate the brake booster vacuum hose. The car threw up all sorts of faults and then said it was in Turtle mode. I found the brake booster hose had a hole in it where it was chewed. I replaced the hose with some clear plastic hose that I had in the shed, and...
