Android Auto (and maybe Carplay) wireless with SE

It seems to vary across different models. Herself has a different model to mine, and that has had more recent full updates than mine. But these days, Android mostly uses google play services as a shim to mitigate the worst of the lack of full updates, so personally I'm less concerned about that...

Android Auto (and maybe Carplay) wireless with SE

Good. Yes re generally less bloatware on lesser-known phone brands, especially usually denigrated Chinese ones. We use Cubots. Very cheap and no bloatware at all, almost stock android. Can't say they are flawless, but the trouble we have is in common with many others, so is not unique to the...

    This is hilarious

Hah! That looks like an AIR module, very popular about 20 years ago, right up to the time when the wind piped up, when it screeched like a banshee. They were also well known for burning out. There's one in the shed, sans blades. But your point is well made. Maybe this person thought the trees...

Yes, I would absolutely agree with you, except for the last sentence. Wind turbines need a clean airflow. The devices sold as "urban" or "rooftop" are snake oil. There are so many studies on the need for clear air flow, it's amazing that, even now, every now and again, yet another promise of...

    This is hilarious

Here's a blog post from way back when - The Superwind's first winter - The Quibble Locker I think it was £1500 at the time, and I did the installation. I do have some figures from the last few years when I finally got around to putting in a monitoring system, but I don't have those on the public...

    Planning a trip to Scotland

We waved when you went past the track to our house, but you didn't wave back! :)

    This is hilarious

Speaking as one who has had wind chargers for 25+ years, and depended on them for winter power for 18 years, the one question with all these "new" designs is why don't you see more of them. The main reason is they really don't work, have a small operating window, are hard or impossible to...

You CAN road trip an SE SR

About the only "rule" we have when charging is to do something, rather than just sit in the car waiting. We were at the Tesla chargers in Inverness a while back, and a carload of folk were next door, I think 5 adults. All except one were asleep. And this with the centre of Inverness literally 3...

You CAN road trip an SE SR

Be interesting to follow this as we may have to do an almost-full- length-of-the-island trip this winter. The Scotland leg is old hat, if you pardon the mixed metaphors, but we can learn from you on the southern Britain leg.

Macklin Motors MG Edinburgh West - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

And a nice ostentatious notepad, taking down everything they say, will return the threatening compliment. Maybe even record the discussion, letting them know that you will doing that "because I have reason to believe inappropriate work is being forced on me" Just an idea.

I never knew the speed limit recognition was so bad

Ah! No doubt then he'll fiddle with his phone while driving.

Surely there's some way of escalating this. It's staggeringly transparently extortion.

What you mean the map? No, it was a paper one.

I never knew the speed limit recognition was so bad

I usually switch off speed recognition as it seemed better at looking up side roads than straight ahead. Also the A9, which we do a lot, has numerous 50mph signs for lorries, and that doesn't help. I haven't really tried it with the latest firmware update. BUT.... I think you may have found the...
