    Android Auto is it rubbish?

Flipping the USB-C cable wouldn’t work because AA/CP only operates from the left port which is USB-A.

Dumb question ( Climate control screen at start )

Mine also shows the HVAC screen as I sit down, and I also assumed it was normal. It “opens up” on the Home Screen, and then the HVAC screen slides down as if I pulled it from the top within a few seconds. Like @salty said, it works for me in winter.

Long Range's Range Cant Be Trusted? Almost Failed To Arrive Home... 😮‍💨

I don’t mind the percentage, I think in a way it matches an analoge needle more, as that slowly came down as the petrol in your tank came down. I also think having a system that can be perceived as less accurate might deter people from switching to EVs, as newbies often still believe in range...

Probably won’t get an MG4 again

That could be true, when the car auto braked in the car park at work I don’t think I got a warning. But driving around town it warns me every now and again when I’m approaching another vehicle (say at some traffic lights for instance)

    The "Coffee Cup" alert.

I’ve had a similar experience, where I decided I wasn’t fit enough to continue without a break, but the car never gave me the alert. The light exists on my instrument cluster, as it comes on when the car starts up and shows me all the things it can warn me about. It would be interesting to find...

    Rain sensor windscreen wipers

I guess technically I've only ever had the one system, as all my previous cars are Peugeots. But that system wasn't great. It wasn't unusable, but not really good enough. Slow to respond to initial rain, and would go full speed for no apparent reason sometimes.

    Rain sensor windscreen wipers

Agreed, I've never had an automatic system that worked well, being in control is better. I do still sometimes wait for the automatic wipers to start, but I'm sure I'll outgrow that soon enough.

    Distance keeping system

I see the warning pop up occasionally, always just before I hit the brakes, I guess the car is a little more risk averse than I am.

    Rain sensor windscreen wipers

I guess they mean the car wipes intermittently "automatically" but I agree that is a pretty misleading use of words. It's like saying the wipers "automatically" go fast when set to Fast Speed Wipe. As far as I know the MG4 does not come with a sensor that wipes the windscreen when it detects a...

    How is Range Calculated?

I don't know what the exact intervals are, but if you open up the charge screen, and go to the third tap (efficiency I think it's called) you can see your power consumption over the last 50 or 60 km I think. The displayed consumption is definitely not as fast changing as it is with most ICE...

Automatic lights not responding to rain

I only found out because I left the lights on, came back to the car not long after, and as I opened the door I heard and saw the warning. But like I said it's rather useless as by then it doesn't matter because I'm back at the car and most likely going to drive it.

Automatic lights not responding to rain

Yeah turning on manually is the best option, same with foggy weather. The car will warn you they are left on, but only after shutting down the car, which normally happens when you are locking the door, and you're outside the car, so you won't hear anything. It's a bit of a design flaw I think.

    MG4 Tyres

To be fair, (some?) other brands do the same with their EV tyres it seems, not just Bridgestone. But on a personal note I’ve never liked Turanza tyres, they have poor wet weather performance and poor wear for my driving style.

    Replacement tyres

The Turanza comes with shallower threads from the factory, Bridgestone apparently says this helps with road noise. I can’t say with certainty that the Continentals come with more thread depth, but the Bridgestones definitely come with less than the standard 8mm. This might explain the reduced...
