What we miss out on with the UK version of the IM5...

Interesting video from one of my favourite YouTubers in China, WheelsBoy - he goes through the China-spec IM5 (sold as the L6) and it's noticeable what IM5 owners don't get here, such as rear animated graphics in the light bar (which would be fun but ultimately stupid due to abuse)...

News on delivery of first Batch of IM5

At this stage, I would imagine all cars coming into the port will be having software updates done to the infotainment and any other electronic systems before being transported to the dealer - pretty normal, especially for a car that's new to the market (there will always be UK-specific things...

    Hi all,

Yep, but it’s a faff to set it each time. With it set to 60% by 5:30am, we just plug in and walk away.

    MG IM5 information & reviews

Desperately Fictitious Range Estimation? 😁 I suspect it’s Dynamic F? Range Estimation, in other words what range you can expect based on recent driving efficiency and remaining battery.

    Hi all,

Sounds like a failed comms module on that car, which Renault should have fixed or replaced under warranty... while the Renault app has been inconsistent for the 6 years we've had a Zoe (now replaced with ID.3) and Megane (current), it does at least work much of the time. We have an Ohme Home...

    IM5 App?

Renault had to replace our (and probably thousands of others') Zoe comms module when they turned 3G off... thankfully although it was 4 years old, we had the extended warranty so everything was covered...

    Hi all,

Welcome @WMOAP ! Glad you're enjoying your shiny new blue IM5! Out of interest, why was the Scenic e-Tech a big mistake?

    IM6 Rapid Charging

I love the "Max 150kW" sign below the screen ;-) Time to find a 400kW charger and arrive with 5% battery, pre-heated, to see what you can get!

    IM5 App?

Correct - it works perfectly with the VW and Polestar connectivity systems, but is rubbish with the Renault/Dacia, Stellantis and many others' systems. It's down to poor architecture design of the infrastructure, lazy coding and inappropriate technologies. The same problem used to afflict BP...

    Real life range

No need to apologise and your explanation is very useful for those who aren't familiar with regen and how it benefits some situations more than others. I simply wanted to make sure that any new EV owners reading this thread didn't think that regen didn't apply in motorway driving at all, or that...

    Real life range

Thank you for the write-up! I'm curious about this bit: Do you mean that you had to brake harder than the regen was able to provide, so the physical brakes were used? Or do you mean that brake regen was set to minimum? Braking using the brake pedal will always use regen first, only switching...

News on delivery of first Batch of IM5

Generally with cars coming from China, it's about 6-8 weeks from VIN being allocated while the car is being built, through shipping, checks, delivery to the dealer and then delivery to you. On the other hand if it was a car that has already been built, and they just allocated it to you, it could...

News on delivery of first Batch of IM5

Yet again another question about insurance, when there are threads already covering this! Use the search before posting!

    IM5 App?

Sadly the whole connectivity thing is something most companies have been dreadful at. Renault/Dacia has a very patchy app which probably only communicates successfully with the car (Zoe originally, now Megane) about 30% of the time. Most of the time it simply times out and they are too hopeless...

    IM5 App?

It's a completely different platform to the other MGs, as it's an IM car not an MG really, so it wouldn't surprise me if it's different too.
