SAIC to get 38,1% duty in EU

Different manufacturers are to have different rates. UK can flip this to their advantage as we don't have anyone really making small cars, to not impose tariffs so the masses can have affordable EVs and so can Ireland through the back door!

    PCP issues

While it was presented as a PCP and structured like one, it doesn't appear to be a PCP. This is an extract. The credit provided under the agreement is made by way of a fixed sum loan and as such, you do not have the right to voluntarily surrender the vehicle under s.99 of the Consumer Credit...

    Pinched off Facebook (EV history)

Isn't this similar to emergency braking?

Thanks. So they couldn't override this either then by excluding this?

    Dealer offering superior financial package

The problem with PCP deals with interest, it is charged on the full value of the car and not just the bit being PCP'd so higher the rate the more the monthly cost.

    MG5 2021 REAR SUSPENSION NOISE

Aren't shocks and the like only covered for 3 years? The 7 year figure while sounding good is a bit misleading.

The horse probably had more range than these!

    PCP issues

Good Evening! A bit of clarification, are the PCPs arranged via MG dealers non-standard as such? As according to the finance company they say there is no option to terminate it early after paying the 50% of value as it's not an option in the contract even though they say it's a PCP deal...

Impact of KERS on tyre wear

I have noticed a difference in the mi/kWh figure when doing the same journey on the motorway between Kers 1 and 2 you get a better figure with Kers 1 as when you take the foot off it doesn't slow as much compared to Kers 2. Maybe it doesn't take much energy to get back up to 70 so better figures.

Competition for the MG5 is on the horizon

The Astra will win on the looks department at least..

    KERS!

Isn't KERS1 more efficient, not due to the regen, but it slows the car down in a more predictable manner, especially when no one is behind, so not needing to press the throttle again to keep up. On a slightly different note, what's that motorize type noise when applying the breaks sometimes...

    KERS!

Just a general observation, we hear people driving around usually in Kers3, I usually drive around in Kers2 and normal mode, but recently for a few days was driving in Kers1 instead, I noticed the m/kwh is around .5 better on usual routes which is a mix of motorway and in town driving. Has...

    BP Pulse - Not Charging

There are few of these installed in a local carpark (on the wall), these chargers are around 6 months old at best. Went to charge today and after starting the charge via the app the car makes the noise as it's about to to charge and the charge point changes colour and then briefly goes red but...

Snow, steep hills and the MG5 LR

I've noticed the lunge behavior a few times when applying the brakes gently, where the car slows down and then there is sometimes a bit of lunge forward before the friction brakes like take over, at least that's the impression I got.

    Dashboard reflections in windscreen

I've noticed the same issue for a while. It's worse when driving in country roads when the sun comes through the trees.
