I told my dealer the letter was not specific enough and this was there response
Hi Robert,
From doing a little more research they say “When the engine revs to 4/5000rpms the engine is working like a generator to produce electricity for the electric motor to drive the car.”
Other than that, there...
Just had the attached from my dealer. I'm sure Noel will agree that it is not specific and therefore not helpful and quite unprofessional. They need to say what they consider 'normal high revving' is so that we know if there is a problem on some of the cars or not. I don't mind the occasional...
sorry to hear that you've joined the high revs club. Been out today with 4 in the car and struggled on some hills and very, very noisy so difficult to hear people talking in the car. MPG steadily going down every week and no response from dealer or MG
Hi Nico
I'm in west Wales, got the car from cardigan and I experience exactly the same issues as you. I've read somewhere that the software was designed for London roads and we have very different roads here but so do many other parts of the UK and other countries. Many people think we are...
I contacted MG customer services and they have replied.
''Having checked your case I can see that the vehicle is awaiting a software patch from manufacturing. As soon as this patch is available it will be applied to your vehicle by the dealership.''
The blog the other night was interesting as...
Interesting MG video. My car revs much higher and is much louder than the car in the video. I will try and focus on the battery level more, but mine rarely gets above 60%. I just sat in the car with the engine running for 10 minutes but with 2 bars remaining to fill it goes into EV mode so i'll...
Shame and not good news. I got my car back today with no known fix yet. I've asked for an email to confirm what is happening, what was installed and copies of the software update sheet which they have said they will do. Still seems like a faulty software install to me but who knows??
Will be good to hear how this goes over the next few days and if it works it needs sharing on this forum as MG are unlikely to announce it and I don't think they know who needs it. I believe, as do some others, that we may have had a corrupted update and I've told the dealer that. They say they...
Dealer rang back today to say that MG technical are now aware of the overrevving problem after the PD052 update but they do not have a solution yet but are working on it,. How long that will take is not known so I will get my car back tomorrow and have to wait until I hear from them,. There must...
Registered December 2024 and yes ZS+. Dealer didn't know about the update when I took it in a few weeks ago but the update was on the system and so it was installed along with some others. It's only since the update that the performance and over revving has got worse
Did a 70 mile each way journey over the weekend. Could rarely get over 60 up slight hills before power dropped off and car revved up to 5000. Took my car into the dealer today. They test drove it and found the same issues so agreed with my comments. They spoke to MG who said there is no new...
several more journeys and car is revving high on small hills and then on the flat after, until it decides to change gear, even if I take my foot off the revs drop but then shoot back up. Car seems noisier overall as well. Going to ring the dealer now!!
