Absence of MG comment means I’ve cancelled

I don't think they are stingy at all. Far from it. Most manufacturers are still typically stuck at 3 years. Its just that a lot is being made of the "7 year warranty", and really when you look at the small print it is not as comprehensive as I am sure many people will be expecting.

Absence of MG comment means I’ve cancelled

Some is, definitely (and they are generally covered for 12 months which is good), but , infotainment, suspension components, ball joints, track rod ends, wheel bearings, drive belts, paintwork? Surely you would expect them to be covered by a comprehensive warranty?

    MG4 Insurance Issues

Is that the same Direct Line who claim to be EV Specialists, offering extra benefits to EV and Hybrid car owners and "making electric easy"? It sounds like their underwriters need to speak to their marketing team! I am actually with Direct Line, and in my instance with a Golf GTE they are...

Absence of MG comment means I’ve cancelled

Neither do MG in reality if you look at the list of exclusions and things that are covered for shorter periods. It isn't a patch on the Kia warranty. https://www.mg.co.uk/sites/default/files/2021-10/MG_Online_Warranty_Statement_October_2021.pdf In reality it is 3 years for much of the...

    Charging to 100%

No, you need a 3 phase supply for that (most homes don't have it) and the car also needs to be capable of charging at that speed from an AC supply (Rapid charging is DC)

    Second Thoughts

This. The pace of development it rapid at the moment, and there will always be a better car with bigger faster charging batteries around the corner. But if you keep waiting, you will never get one - if you want one, get one now and enjoy it, then in 4 or 5 years time it will still be worth...

    Hello from Barcelona

I was reading up on the details of the 7 year warranty earlier and it is frightening the number of things which are excluded or have a much shorter cover. So things like wheel bearings, clutches, all ball joints, track rod ends, struts, rubber components, paint, cosmetic trim, exhausts, seats...

Carrying a load on the roof

On that front, can someone who has an MG4 look on their VIN plate and confirm that the towing capacity is stamped on there? There was nothing on the door info plate on the demo model I looked at, but I assume the actual VIN plate is under the bonnet somewhere.

    MG4 test drive

That is what I thought too. Set on the strong setting and really weak regen (I tried the other settings too including adaptive and they were weaker still). For reference I drive a Golf GTE (Hybrid) and use it in "B" mode and the regen on that is much stronger, so effectively one pedal most of...
