No, the car will change automatically to petrol and it may charge 2% or 3% of electricity while driving but it won"t stop if you have petrol in your tank.

I have the same problem here in Spain, two days after software actualization the parking sensors failed, I took it to MG and they said they fixed the problem but two days after the problem stils. I have to take the car to MG again and I hope it's the last time I have to take it for this.
