Think I have worked out what has happened. It appears there is meant to be a drain hole at this point, see undamaged side image. The side which is damaged is at the same point of the drain hole so i suspect that was the weak point. Going to take it up to the dealer when i get back and ask them...
Was parking in a woodland car park while on holiday and got the front passenger side stuck on a low rock i had not spotted. Reversed back and cant see much damage other than this under sill is scrapped and a small portion, about 4cm long looks like its split. I am thinking i may just gently...
May be unconnected but I have seen a number of people posting on the Ohme charging FB group saying they are getting messages saying their BMW cannot currently be set to smart charge and to use the timer on the car instead. Could indicate an AWS issue which the privacy notice for MG says they use.
MG Motor Uk have just put up an advert on Facebook for the S5 and S6. I have just posted this comment I suggest others do the same as there is nothing like a social media post to get a reaction.
“MG UK would you care to comment on all the issues your MG S5 and S6 customer are having with...
I suspect that’s the issue which is why some see it as fixed but when the buffer fills the issues start. Would fit with my journey on Friday as I drove 30 mins to my destination and when I came out nothing worked properly.
However this is specific to uk and Europe and we are seeing people...
Just out of curiosity I have uploaded MG UKs privacy policy to google gemini and asked it to summarise the stuff in it. This was the response, take it as you wish but it only used the publically available privacy policy I downloaded to prepare this no other data source. I am sure if I were to do...
Similar problems this morning as soon as I turned on data. Car play not connecting, cameras very slow to respond and a new one, heated steering wheel kept turning off after 5 seconds. Don’t need the car today so going to leave data on to see if something happens.
The fact that we are seeing...
Workaround
I have turned off data in the global data setting, disabled WiFi hotspot and wlan. Plug in iPhone using a cable and the system seems restored to normal minus the built in sat nav which is awful anyway so not bothered about that and no speed warning alerts as it doesn’t seem able to...
Snap. Same issues as yesterday slow to respond and cameras unusable. I always was a bit concerned about buying MG and their software but didn’t expect car functionality to be remotely disabled like this.
Updates should be downloaded in the background without impacting the functionality of the vehicle. They then should only update when parked. This is how Hyundai did it but they used a usb download to achieve updates.
I think I am going to turn off the data option in the car in the hope it stops china servers from doing this again. I was 60 miles from home when it started and with all the odd things going on including a warning that lane keep assist was faulty I really did not enjoy the drive back wondering...
