MG won't VOLUNTARILY recall the cars, but if the DVSA get involved, you are right: MG won't have a choice.

But in an accident is where you want you car to perform 100%. My Dad had a relatively minor rear end shunt driving his F88 Micra on the motorway. The driver's seat came completely away from the floor of the car. Luckily, he wasn't seriously injured. But it completely put him off M-way...

Is the K4 pressure washer any good?

Was thinking of getting the K5. What is the difference with the K4? I need something that is easy to control the water flow as our last one wasn't and took some paint off a plastic trim piece ...

Which is best to use the built in MG Navigation or Android Auto

The MG4 is the first car we have had with Android Auto. In terms of getting the car, I was very late to use Android Auto. That was because, as you know, I couldn't find a lead that would work properly. But when I finally did, it worked fine. I didn't notice any lag. But I do have a problem...

    Not one in six weeks

Dunno if I have posted this before... Heard a funny song on YT the other day...the lyrics went like this: They say you shouldn't judge someone based on their colour, and I quite agree. But now I'm lying in the street with broken bones and missing teeth, all because the man was red instead of...

    New HS Hybrid

Thank you very much. Yes, it seems a bit of a gimmick to me. Now if there was an actual pedal to press with your foot, that would be OK. But otherwise, I would press the button on the key fob.

I'm no Gary Barlow, but one morning when my eldest was about 7 or 8 and getting ready for school, he couldn't get his sweatshirt on. "Idiot stupid poo poo jumper!", he shouted in frustration. Straight away, I go over to the piano and play a simple tune, singing each word to a different note...

I like Super U. We went to Brittany and the Loire Valley when my lads were much younger and they had a stand in the supermarket piled high with cooked prawns. I made up this little song. Don't worry, I'm not going to sing it, you'll just have to imagine the melody, but the words went like...

Have been test driving MGS5 Lux long range for a week now

See, I've tried that. She very successfully manages to ignore me. I can even have a conversation with her and she will answer "Yes" and "No" and then when I mention it later, she has no recollection of it! She's just on autopilot... But when I try and ignore her... Quack quack oops, that...

Sorry to sound like I'm grilling you, but we may be considering buying one in less than a year's time so I'm beginning to put together a shortlist of contenders.

    XPower Insurance Renewal Refused

There's something to be said for the Kiwi way. My lad spent a year in NZ and bought a 2.0 Mazda 3 to drive while he was there. He was 18 when he bought the car and the insurance was part of the purchase price and very affordable. Best bit was, when he sold the car on leaving, he got more than...

    All season tyre choices

Just seen that Bridgestone have a mileage guarantee on Turanza All Season 6. Edit. Scrap that, it's 15,000 in 2 years for EVs. We've done 22K in over 25 months on the original rubber, so not much of a guarantee. The rears are more worn but if we can swap them round to even them out, it might...

    All season tyre choices

Just checked my local National Tyre. £132.59 each all in for 4 including a 15% discount. So if that £120 is all in, that's very good. It was highly recommended by tyre reviews a short while back.

Unintended acceleration in 2024 MG4 Trophy LR

Sorry, I forgot to make my point. It took me a good while to learn to drive this car with clod-hopping feet and pedals that were close together. It was easy to hit the brake and the accelerator together, although it was a manual, so if there were any take off issues, dipping the left hand pedal...

Installing a dashcam (with naked pics...)

After my middle lad's adventures installing Garmin dash cam, he had a pro auto-electrician fit it. The guy asked if he was sure he wanted it hooking up to a permanent feed. It killed the battery very quickly! So.....I guess in an ICE vehicle, you need to be careful, either choose a system with...

Unintended acceleration in 2024 MG4 Trophy LR

I was very lucky to inherit (before my Grandad died) his Alfasud. A 1978 Super, it was built for Italians. It had very short seat cushions for short legged people and the driving position set you far back from the steering wheel (Italians generally have long arms) and the pedals were very close...
