I'd like to go on to this tariff but have solar and battery storage. I can currently charge my batteries overnight on a cheap tariff. Apparently, with OVO you can only charge your car and not the solar battery which is a pity.

Is there a technical reason why it can't be a data port as well as a charge port like the other USB port?

I wondered why Apple CarPlay didn't work on USB-C. I asked the dealership and they said it only works through USB-A. Any technical whizzes out there who can explain why CarPlay can't work through USB-C? As C is becoming the 'standard' in Europe, it would be good if it did work in our cars.

@siteguru thanks for this info. I'm an iPhone user and just checked if there was an update on the App Store but there isn't. The problem of lost connection continues erratically! It would be useful if the app could store details of previous journeys for information.
