    No drive on MGS5

I've been using the handbrake manually by physically lifting the handbrake button and this is when the problem has occurred.I agree that the problem doesn't seem to appear using auto hold which engages just the brakes and not the handbrake....not my preferred option.

Brake switch fault may be registering due to brakes sticking? Try cleaning them will some heavy braking.....put the car in snow mode to turn off regen braking when 'cleaning' discs.

I am now convinced that this problem is due to the brakes temporarily sticking when manually using the electronic handbrake and then not immediately releasing when pressing the accelerator pedal. The seatbelt warning is misleading as the fault can be cleared by putting the car into park and back...

    Random bongs/tones when locking car?

Agreed, but you should get the lights on reminder when you open the door like you do in the ZS EV.

    Random bongs/tones when locking car?

The ironic thing is that if you turn the headlights on manually and leave and lock the car you get no alarm bongs until you open the car again! This has resulted in the headlights being left on. Fortunately the headlights eventually turn off leaving just the sidelights on, so I haven't been...

Happened to my partner for the first time today at traffic lights today, again. She had to put the car in neutral and back into drive to clear fault. Are the traffic lights infra red sensor beams blocking the camera and the car thinks that it cannot move forward?....just a thought.

Fault has reappeared. I noticed this time that power was available, but the handbrake wouldn't release. Same message about seatbelt, but also android auto disconnected. I am sure last time this happened I also had a message about low phone battery. So, again, I wonder if my phone is...

    No drive on MGS5

I think it is a different issue on the MGS5....happened to me twice at traffic lights with the car already in drive. I'm sure it's the micro switch in the seatbelt mechanism that is at play, because only when you physically disconnect and reconnect the seat belt will the fault go away and drive...

    No drive on MGS5

I vacuumed out the seatbelt latching mechanism and sprayed it with some silicone lubricant and haven't had any problems since. I wonder if one of the connecting parts has a small burr on it that breaks off and interferes with the micro switch in the latching mechanism. Worth a try.

My phone is also connected to android auto wirelessly and my partner's is not. Will have to investigate further. Very annoying and potentially danger when it happens.

Do you have a phone in your pocket when the error occurred?

I've experienced the same problem. This has only happened to me and not my partner who drives the car daily. The only difference is that I always have my phone in my pocket that I believe may be causing interference with the seatbelt sensors?
