Thanks for the advice.
I logged into the charger and dropped the current limit to 12A (default was 32A)
Car charge power showing 2.5KW
That setting is good when using solar in the day and won't overload the battery🌞
Hello everyone.
We currently have a Vestel wallbox and Alpha ESS home battery (10kWh) and solar.
At peak performance the solar will generate just under 5kW, max output on the battery is 4.8kW.
I'm using solar to charge the MG today so wanted to try the wall box. Load was higher than the solar...
Nope no alarms seen. The "meter" light on the inverter flashes when normally it's solid.
I've seen the light blink when I've been padding about the garage but not taken much notice before.
I'm not sure I can see any errors as such.
There is a separate voltage display so I can easily see mains...
Hmmm, interesting....
I've wondered why my PV/battery (Alpha system) would sometimes show no solar generation on sunny days.
I've been randomly checked the house mains input voltage and it's quite often around 250-250V.
I can't use the Vestel charger at the moment as it trips out at 253V, having...
My car had the LKA update yesterday during its annual service.
Definitely better, not trying to throw me off the road just annoying beep.
I think I'll still switch it off all the time anyway!
It's an Eon Vestel EVC04 charger. Eon Tech support told me it goes into fault mode above 253V
I was up in the night last week (old mans bladder!), I checked out charger and it had gone into fault mode.
My socket tester was reading 250-253V, I reset the charger and manually started the charge...
It seems a very common problem. Ours is the same, at night mains input is around 253V which causes the charger to fault with an over voltage error.
On our street, out of the 4 other EV chargers, mine is the only one having an issue
I've just started this battle between Eon (charger supplier) and National grid (DNO)
My charger keeps going into fault mode with an over voltage error.
Limit on charger is 253V (230V +10%)
Our mains supply is generally about 250-255V. I've checked with our neighbours and theirs are the same...
Eon standing charge has shot up!
We are on E.oN Next Drive fixed V4, s/c 56.9/day. 6.7p/KWh 12-7, 23.95p/KWh 7-12
Our Smart export with Eon is 16.5p/KWh
I used to charge with the granny cable, could add 20% or so to the battery on cheap rate 12-7.
Now I've got the wall box activated, I can charge from 50% to 80% in 3hrs.
We have solar & 10KWh home battery. When this was first installed last August, I was charging both cars (MG & PHEV XC60) on...
