I think it’s both hardware and software. If I press an icon when travelling at 65 mph I expect it to work first time. Sadly the alternative of using voice control is very flaky too.
The interior refresh is interesting as it should improve the dreadful laggy infotainment screen. Such a pity though that if I want a workable screen I need to buy a new car. Why couldn’t they fix the old screen?
Maybe a technical fault or maybe a deliberate act but a reminder that all connected cars are vulnerable to interference and malfunction

There’s an article in WhatCar about a failed OTA update for a BYD Sea Lion. Maybe an isolated incident……..but weren’t there lots of stories of dealers bricking MG4s shortly after launch...
OTA will need to be very reliable before I try it. Imagine bricking the car on your drive and having to be recovered to a dealer who might not have availability for days / weeks. If the dealer bricks it they are better equipped to sort it and have an incentive to do it quickly to free up...
Sadly it took a couple of years for me to be able to use the Bluetooth key. I think all the planets have to be perfectly aligned for it to work ie car software, iSmart version and phone version.
