WhatCar survey: repairs not covered by warranty.

I'd be interested to hear of other examples of paintwork problems, do you have any?

WhatCar survey: repairs not covered by warranty.

All the MG dealership would say (and MG UK parroted) was that the flaking paint was in their opinion caused by a stone chip. They repeatedly ignored my request to explain the bubbling of paint at two additional areas on the same panel. Fed up with not being listened to, I've escalated this...

WhatCar survey: repairs not covered by warranty.

Paintwork bubbling and flaking off - although I've raised a case with the Ombudsman so I'm hoping MG will be paying for this ultimately...

    Paint peeling off bumper

Quick update on my peeling paint, I've launched an official complaint against my local MG dealership & MG UK with The Motor Ombudsman as neither seem willing to honour the MG Warranty. I'm hoping the Ombudsman will be able to hold MG to account and settle this matter...

    Basic (standard) or long range

I bought the Standard Range primarily for commuting thinking that I'd do occasional 200mile trips to see family in our other car, an efficient diesel. In the end, I've used the MG4 for those longer trips too as stopping for a quick top up charge is just not an issue at all. I read some advice...

Can You Turn The Charge Port Light Off?

You could pull the fuse for the charge port lights, that would work without impacting charging...

MG4 Efficiency - am I doing something wrong?

One thing that might be worth checking is that your battery heating setting is switched off. When I first got my MG4 (winter) having this setting on (which was the default setting the car arrived with) absolutely killed my efficiency figures. I understand that this setting only need be switched...

    Windscreen replacement woes

I had to wait many weeks for autoglass to get a replacement windscreen in stock when my windscreen cracked a few months back, so sounds like things are looking much better now. Had to take my car to MG dealer for recalibration which was a pain, but on the plus side, they installed quite a few...

    Paint peeling off bumper

Thanks for all your comments. I can say for sure that there hasn't been any impacts/damage to cause this. I think it's interesting that there are linear cracks appearing just along from the main patch that's peeling - not at the point of maximum curvature that would be most prone. I'll...

    Paint peeling off bumper

I've had the car since New Year's Eve - I've literally washed it once since. Ironically it got washed (jet washed?) at the dealer a couple of weeks ago when it was in for software updates and sensor recalibration following windscreen replacement. Perhaps the dealer washer did it? Either way...

    Paint peeling off bumper

I've recently spotted paint peeling off the front bumper. One patch near the headlight is pretty obvious, the other is a little more subtle and linear in nature. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this? I'd welcome opinions as to the likely best remedy to ask for ie would a dealer be able to...

    MG4 Range

I've got the SR MG4. My experience driving M3 motorway and into London; in summer I get pretty much bang on 218 miles range. Typical winter range was 186 miles. Extreme cold winter ( -12C ish) I was down to 146 miles. I would therefore suggest that the long range would have no problem covering...

What would make public charging better for you..?

Only used public chargers twice - both Osprey paying via excellent Octopus Electroverse. Great experience overall, however 3 our of 4 charging bays had been parked in by ICE cars - not only unfair for EV customers, but also robbing Osprey of potential income. Add parking penalties for ICE...

MG4 Charging port lights stopped working

I've not had this problem reoccur since accidentally fixing it! I can report the fuse was a bugger to pull out so perhaps not a dodgy connection. I guess it's more like the classic IT fix of turning it off and on again...

Electric Shocks? Faults? First Week Blues? Or is it just me....

Blame it on the weather! Colder weather brings much lower levels of humidity - this increases the chance of static shocks. Might get less shocking for you when our weather warms up ⚡
