All the MG dealership would say (and MG UK parroted) was that the flaking paint was in their opinion caused by a stone chip. They repeatedly ignored my request to explain the bubbling of paint at two additional areas on the same panel. Fed up with not being listened to, I've escalated this...

Quick update on my peeling paint, I've launched an official complaint against my local MG dealership & MG UK with The Motor Ombudsman as neither seem willing to honour the MG Warranty. I'm hoping the Ombudsman will be able to hold MG to account and settle this matter...

I've had the car since New Year's Eve - I've literally washed it once since. Ironically it got washed (jet washed?) at the dealer a couple of weeks ago when it was in for software updates and sensor recalibration following windscreen replacement. Perhaps the dealer washer did it? Either way...

Blame it on the weather! Colder weather brings much lower levels of humidity - this increases the chance of static shocks. Might get less shocking for you when our weather warms up ⚡
