    MGS5 12V battery dead

Sidetrack back to booster packs if I may, and their storage. Would it be ok to store one under the bonnet - suitably wrapped and secured? Bonnet release would still work if 12v dies, and I'd feel happier with it NOT under a seat in the cabin!

    Boot hooks

Thanks for your thoughts, I'll check out those headrest hooks. My issue with the S5 hooks is they are too small for anything other than plastic carrier bags (which we won't use), and on the weekly shop there's always one bag that I can't wedge in.... EDIT - or the Christmas shop... 😬

    Boot hooks

Does anyone else find the "shopping bag" hooks in the boot virtually unusable? They are so small the bag handles fall off almost immediately, certainly when cornering. More importantly - anyone found an upgrade/mod that improves the hooks?

    V2L ok indoors?

Is it ok to use V2L when the car is in a closed garage? No ventilation issues etc? Considering running a few devices temporarily from the car whilst it is parked in the garage. Assume max current draw is 13 amp?

    Tailgate opening height

Found the post, on Facebook mgs5 forum: Once you’ve opened the boot, manually push it all the way to the top, then hold the boot button you should hear an audible beep, let go of the button and then press it again this will then close the boot. This is the learn proceedure for setting the...

    Tailgate opening height

I've seen reports elsewhere that if you lift the tailgate to the height you want, hold the "boot button" until it beeps, release button, then press again - the tailgate closes and remembers the setting. Just a suggestion - since my original post I've not had any further problems with the tailgate.

Archived MG S5 Mudguards (not mudflaps) for rear wheels

No need to remove the wheel. The lower fixing is a screw, use the right-angle screwdriver in the pack to undo it. The other clips are push in, if you lever the centre section out carefully then the clip can be re-used (if you wish).

Archived Full set of plain sill protectors for MG S5

Both sets are still available. Both will fit the MGS5 - they were bought for my car. The supplier messed up which is why I have these extras left over. The ES5 is the model designation in China (same car).

    Plain sill protectors

Yes these are the ones I got (5 piece set). Took about 2 weeks to ship to UK. Take care with positioning them as it's difficult to move them when stuck, but they do a great job.

    Plain sill protectors

Thing to watch for is the plain ones are not quite square (or rather oblong!), have to be a bit careful when cutting/sticking. Suggestion would be to line the tape on the outside of the sill and hide the cut edge under the door seal. Apols if this is obvious!

Archived Full set of plain sill protectors for MG S5

Full set (10 items) of plain stick-on sill protectors for the MG S5. They are shaped and handed so you need to work which sill they fit. They look like heavy duty "sticky back plastic" but stick really well and protect the whole width of the sill. Also available are a set of protectors with...

    Plain sill protectors

Finally got these plain sill protectors from MGTitan fitted: They stick like s**t so it's important to get the alignment right first time. I decided to fit the boot protector as well - you can see the strip when the boot is shut but as the colour matches the bumper I reckon it's ok...

S5 arrived today as planned - couple of questions.....

Go into the satnav settings and turn it off in there - I missed that as well!

S5 arrived today as planned - couple of questions.....

Beware when you use manual headlights, as @Ian Key says remember to turn them off before getting out as you don't get a warning when opening the door! Why did MG forget this?!!

Archived MG S5 Mudguards (not mudflaps) for rear wheels

Due to duplication of orders, I have a spare set of mudguards for the MG S5 EV. These are brand new, not been fitted, and come with all necessary fixings. They protect the rear doors from crud, and get rid of that awkward corner on the rear door sill. Can send at cost (c. £3-7 depending on method).
