MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

As stated on here quite a while ago any orders without a name against it incurs a £1500 penalty, so I can't see any leasing company absorbing that,so yes YET ANOTHER QUEUE JUMPER.
I don't know how long you've been on this sub, but I'm pretty sure the £1500 penalty wasn't introduced until after MG realised they were having issues delivering the cars. So the likelihood is that all the lease cars are in fact allocated to individuals, and have been for quite some time...

edit

As pointed out by another user. The leaseholder is a customer in their own right.

As far as MG are concerned, the leasing company IS the customer. That's an important element of leasing . The Lease company owns the car and can claim VAT back etc.

If a leasing company has cars on order which still have'nt been allocated to drivers that's their business. Same as any other fleet customer.

It should always be first come first served!
absolutely it should be but it seems the luxury of normality/ fairness is well out of our control when it comes to MG, no one's fault but theirs ! Plus i do like seeing peoples pictures they post when they get the car, reminds us why we're all putting ourselves through this 🤣

My dealer rang yesterday to tell me they now have a delivery date for my car ZS EV Trophy in Silver. It should be here September 24th. Not bad considering the car was ordered Dec 2021. Just got to keep everything crossed now........
Which dealer is it if you don't mind me asking? Cheers.

Agreed, but calling someone a queue jumper insinuates it’s their fault/doing, and it’s a bit of a bitter comment, unflattering to yourself really. It’s clear noone is in control of this ship especially not the customers, we are informed, if ever, last in anything and everything. So disappointed with MG, im itching to cancel if i didn’t know that if i do there’s no chance id get a better deal or EV this year! That said im still not sure that i will!! My dealer is being shady regarding when my order was actually put through and if i was in fact assigned a preorder (back when preorders were still permissible and common practice without the £1500 fine, which none seems to care about anyways)

It should, I agree. But your posts do seem to insinuate that the delivery of the vehicle, is the persons fault. It is not. MG have created the delivery issue, not the person who has ordered. a vehicle. To claim someone is a “que jumper“ is petty IMOH.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. As expected my order is still TBA (didn't expect anything else as it was only ordered in April), but he said he has not had one single order fulfilled yet.
Also, he tells me my order didn't get the grant that was available at the time because the car was too much (£33495 for a ZS Trophy LR). Is that right?

Edit: The threshold for the grant WAS lower, so no, I didn't qualify.

Am I missing something? I thought the car in question came from Tusker; so it’s a leased car. I’d presume Tusker would have put a stock order in with their dealer right when the order books opened.

This is correct. I ordered in April and didn’t receive the grant as the cut off was £32,000.

That cost of 2.5k remains with Vanarama as they are the owners and they should have claimed those, not our problem

If they decide to cancel this, they can either leave the charger where it is free of cost or come and collect after paying for damage to my wall
mmmmm this could be a potential mess that I'm in too. My deal is a five way agreement. MG/Vanarama/Dealer/ Novuna/ Me
Vanarama will be the registered keeper of the car with a contract to supply me, the hirer the car . But my finance agreement ( I'm leasing ) is with Novuna. My finance documents (signed on 24th June) say that Novuna may increase the monthly rental for a number of reasons.

"Rental payable under this agreement has been calculated on the assumption that there will be no change in :the estimated purchase price of the vehicle quoted by the manufacturer or supplier at the time Novuna Vehicle Solutions placed the order for the vehicle. Import duty. Tax law or practice, the rates of taxation or capital allowances or any other change which adversely affects our net after tax rate of return on our investment in the vehicle. If these assumptions are or become incorrect and we have not delivered the vehicle to you, you may terminate the agreement; or if you wish to take delivery of the vehicle we will be entitled to increase the rentals to compensate us for an reduction in our net after tax rate of return on our investment in the vehicle"

When does the dealer or Novuna pay for the car? At time of order or at another time?

I was told 5-6 months delivery which Vanarama are still quoting . The dealer apparently confirmed this to Vanarama who have told me I can expect delivery in late November.
My charger is being installed in September so it will be interesting to see what happens there if the car is delayed or cancelled.

This section is interesting too.

"If at any time during the period prior to the estimated delivery due date of the Vehicle the estimated delivery date is extended by more than 10 weeks, then, following receipt of 14 days prior written notice, either you or we have the right to terminate the Agreement without liability to the non-terminating party. Such notice will only terminate the hire agreement if the vehicle is not delivered before the date on which the notice expires."

Just had the phone call, LR Trophy connect is now expected Oct/Nov ordered 14th Dec 21
I don't expect I will get it till next year if I'm being honest. It's only the fact that I got the full grant on it I haven't canceled.

I just received a phone call from Nathaniel Cars, my Trophy Connect LR Black in now built and awaiting shipping. I should receive it middle to the end of September. Ordered in Jan.
Mine was ordered early December 21....still heard nothing..!!
