ZSEV Trophy LR rear seat belt warning issue. The rear seat belt warning operation is different to the way it worked in my old Mk1 ZSEV.
This afternoon I put the rear seats down and filled the back of the car for a trip down to the local tip, all was well until I started to drive down the road. At about 5mph the icon for the rear seat belts came up on the dash with a audible bong bong bong warning, the two outer seats showed white and the middle seat showed red. I assume this was because I had some of my rubbish for the tip pressing down on the back of the seats and this was detected as someone sat on the seat. The problem is that the warning and bongs can't be cancelled, neither with the OK button on the steering wheel or after a timeout period as for the Mk1 ZSEV. The warning goes off when you stop at traffic lights etc, but comes on again as the speed gets over 5 mph. After the tip run and putting the seats back up everything was fine again.
Not much of a problem for such a short trip you might think, but the bong sound overrides (completely cancels) all other notification sounds and even the indicator click sound, so there's no feedback for anything else. This wouldn't be acceptable for a long journey where the back of the car is loaded with camping equipment etc.
As I said earlier, in the Mk1 this would time out after about 30 sec, but not in my MK2.
Needs a fix so it can be cancelled or accepted with the OK buttor or at least a timeout. Even better a microswitch sensor on the seat back hinge to disable the relevant seat belt warnings when the seat backs are folded down.

A not too expensive solution:

Looks like a good idea, but as they are plastic, they may break in the hot weather. Using a metal version might be better. Just an initial thought.

Or with a dual use :)

So many options :)

I have the same problem. If i connect the belts then fold the seats down, I get serious indentations in the seats. Not a good idea.
Just connect the middle belt, one "serious" indentation. ;)
The seats are plastic which will deform then come back over time, depends how long you have the seat folded down as to how long it takes to reform.
If you're that worried about the seats getting indentations in them, maybe you shouldn't let anybody sit in the back.
