MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Just got update from MG UK.
My order 6th Jan - LR Trophy Blue.

Still on shortage awaiting factory build.

Was told last month estimate 8-9 months delivery.
If the car has not hit the production line yet then the soonest will be October which will be 10 months minimum wait.

Cars2 MG Barnsley have a load of cars due for September Stock including my car exact spec.

But MG UK told me not to be concerned because the only way they could be getting delivery of stock cars before me is if they ordered them before me. I was reminded that MG UK have a strict policy where they only prioritise by orders by the date the order was placed.

Have sent MG UK a reply email reminding them that all stock orders were supposed to be cancelled - so why not divert these cars to people in the queue?

Absolutely speechless !!!!!!! See advert for my car arriving in September but will be sold to someone who just walks in from the street without any wait.

Yep usual madness. MG UK seem to hide behind the 'dealers can allocate stock as they see fit, they are franchises' line they gave me.

They don't seem to see how frustrating this is for people waiting when there is stuff like that for sale.

Poor way to operate and an inability to see the bigger picture.

That’s better than my news - happy for you.

My order number is is just over 73000 so by deduction 23000 MG cars were sold between 9th December and 6th January ?
Interesting to know the order numbers- I wonder if we can deduce delivery order from that?! but in 2021 they sold ~30k cars (~50% EVs)

Having been told by Vanarama this morning that my order for a ZS Trophy which was placed in November, has been put back again until April 2023 I have cancelled.
Vanarama have I believe made some serious errors with their offer and I’ve had enough of their “guesstimates”. It’s quite clear they have no idea when they might receive the vehicles ordered and it seems equally clear that MG have little interest in servicing them.
I went to our local MG dealership this afternoon and test drove an MG5 Exclusive, (cancelled order) and should pick it up next week.
I don’t blame you, the situation with Vanarama is ridiculous.

And that’s our dealer, we ordered exact same spec. What’s betting we don’t get a call from them to offer us the car. 😡

If these cars aren't allocated to customers, no reason they can't apply them to the waiting list if MG has no issue with it. They'll probably sell to someone at a higher price point though, which is wrong.

And aren't Cars2 the same dealer discussed on this thread, that have stiffed customers of their PiCG?

Edit: Spelling correction

Well, just got an email from Octopus today.... What a farce. Another push... They have 300 effected orders...
I think the lease companies will never get the cars. TBH, I'm currently ith Elmo but this is too expensive so I think September come and I'm going to get a new used ice... Petrol is getting cheaper and post October electricity prices gonna go mad anyhow.
I ordered through octopus in Decber for April delivery. 1 week before delivery I was told that my car wasn't on the ship and would be June, then it moved to July, then it moved to August. I'm now middle of September. Octopus are blaming MG for our communication. Majorly frustrating though

Had my ZS on order with Vanarama since last November. April delivery was cancelled. Had a call yesterday telling me it might now be April next year. I’m cancelling. Went to local dealership yesterday and they have an MG5 (cancelled order), which has now got my name on it.

I think if there was some evidence of any Vanarama order being delivered I would hang on.

Can anyone on the forum say they've had a ZS ordered from Vanarama turn up though? Even going back to October last year? I'm guessing not...
When I spoke to the adviser I did ask if there was any chance of them turning up earlier.
He didn't say yes but did mention all they've had so far is a few ICE ZS turn up.

When I spoke to them yesterday they have no idea. They’re simply pushing date on by several months each time. I think there’s a problem between leasing companies who have taken mass orders and MG.

Identical timing for me with my lease order. I ordered MG5 LR Exclusive through SG Fleet back in December and, just the same, 1 week before delivery in April, was told of the months delay, which has pushed out every month since then.

Last month I was sent a list of all 9 stages that my car would go through from "unconfirmed build" through to "awaiting delivery instructions from dealer" and my order was at the very first step! So, I'll wait for the next update due this week to be told exactly the same. They even said there's no way to update my order model to the latest, which adds insult to injury. I'll keep pressing on that but won't hold my breath...

Hi I’ve noticed that most of the people on here are waiting for long range, are there issues with the standard range as I ordered my ZS trophy connect SR on the 7th April but have not been given any information other than order placed.
I ordered from a local MG dealer Mervyn Stewart in Bangor Northern Ireland.

I just got a call yesterday from my dealer that now I am expecting mid to late November pushed back from an end of September date. Ordered the begining of March from MG Bristol North.
Just had an email from the same dealer as @MistaMayka stating he has been informed by MG that as of the start of September, deliveries of over 10,000 new MGs will be docking into the UK....but (and isn't there always a but) " what cars they will be we have absolutely no idea". The dealer goes on to say that he is "confident a small handful of those cars will be for his customers".

Sorry, but I'm not so confident! As its only a relatively small dealership, and we don't know which model many of those hoped for small handful are, I'm still not realistically expecting my ZS this year.

Now that China is practicing blockading Taiwan, who I believe manufacture a lot of the chips for EVs, who knows if even that expectation is overly optimistic?

There was a big delivery of SRs a couple of months back and some dealers do still seem to have SRs in stock. Who knows when the next lot will arrive? If I were you I'd cancel my order and buy from a dealer who has the car on the forecourt. It would be worth your while even if it means a wee trip to Scotland.

Nope mine is an SR. Ordered January, TBA.

Just been told that my TCLR ordered in Feb for Sept delivery may not even have been built yet, up until today my lease company told be it will be delivered on the 1st of Sept as agreed.
