Arnold Clark MG Liverpool - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

No experience of buying from this dealer, but when I asked for a service plan quote to be emailed I end up getting a phone call from head office instead, which I ignore because I find it too pressurised.

So I also decided to call in as I was in the area. First they didn't know about MG service plans. Then they didn't know if they did them. Then they didn't know how much they were. Then they tried to sell me their standard "Clark Plan" which is for petrol and diesel vehicles. Then I got the classic sharp intake of breath through pursed lips when I said it was an electric car. Then they said most dealers won't do an EV plan as they won't make money on it. This was all interspersed with them trying to distract me with the latest cars - yes, I'm sure the MG4 is lovely, yes, I'd love one, but no, I'm not interested right now. Then when I mentioned the MG service plans are clearly advertised on their website, he went and emailed someone and said he'd get back to me when he knew more. So no, I won't be coming here!

My experience of this dealership just now, having visited to see if they had any idea when MG4 demos were coming in and to contact me for a td when they do.
Went to MG showroom, nobody approached to ask if I needed help so went to service reception to be told no, we only do services here, sales are in the other building (with Kia dealership..) fair enough..
So walk over to other site, to a nicer reception desk with the only receptionist on phone to customer. Waited a while trying to catch anybody's eye from the numerous sales people walking around...nothing.
Receptionist finishes on phone and asks can she help, so she puts out a tannoy asking for somebody from Sales to come and see a customer waiting in reception area.
I waited 10-15 mins trying to catch somebody's attention with lots of apparent sales people walking past, obviously noticing I was waiting, but nothing, nada.
I mean, c'mon at least tell me you're busy with a customer, grab a drink and I'll be with you asap, but they were not interested it seems.
Shame as it's my nearest MG dealer.

See you later Arnold Clark !
I've read more bad things about them than good and now I've experienced first hand what their customer service is like, i.e. non-existent it appears, despite them being my nearest MG 'dealer', I won't be returning any time soon.
I ended up going to Holdcroft at Cheshire Oaks, they're having some tech problems with phones and email, but a visit in person and I found them very helpful and professional. And at least you can go shopping while you're there :)
