MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

I don't know, but all of you that have been contacted by your supplier regarding a monthly price hike of £xx p.m. are leasing, but when my dealer phoned yesterday to confirm my pick up time he said "oh by the way your monthly PCP will be £xx LOWER p.m. Luckily I was sat down at that point.

There are bound to be a lot of car orders hit by this as many are taking more than 12 months to fulfil right?

Somebody did post the link to the dedicated thread already, but here goes again in case people can't find it in the general forum:

Noticed that tensions are brewing with China in the news. I wonder if there will be import sanctions in the future?
The more I think about this, something is telling me that the MG was never to be. Time to buy something else.

There's always some kind of tension with China - whether this will impact shipping, I don't know. I kind of feel like if my car isn't already on a boat it may never actually arrive. When I look at the tracker, the delivery rate is abysmally low considering we're essentially 9 months out since launch. Kicking myself that I didn't hedge my bets and throw some money down on something else - likely it would've been here already.

And to bring it back around, your list of upcoming ships:

Leo Spirit
Was in Shanghai 2nd July. Is visiting Belgium first then making it’s way to Portbury- due 5th August. Departed Portbury 4th August

Titus
Left Shanghai on 22 July. Is currently on route to Suez port - expected 11th August.

Global Highway
Was in Shanghai on 18th July. Is currently on route to Jordan. Due to be at Portbury 23rd August.

Swallow Ace
Was in Shanghai on 24th July, went to Korea, then returned to Shanghai and is now on route to Singapore. Due to be at Portbury 31st August.

Michigan Highway
Arrived into Shanghai today. Due to be at Portbury on 8th September.

And Michigan Highway only spent 4.5 hours in dock - not holding out for many cars on that.

Portbury is not currently expecting a visit from Titus.

Eurasian Highway is currently sat on anchor outside Shanghai. Hopefully this will dock soon and load up. Due Portbury on 11th September.

We could look at, you know who…as that Scottish play or wasn’t there someone in the Harry Potter film, that you couldn’t say the name of? Lol..

Hopefully, Titus does drop by Portbury, she's carrying the first batch of MG4's

It's been been extended to 12, but from the wording, if it hasn't reached those statuses by 9, they are still cancelling them...or am I reading it wrong?

That text is from the section about the extension...
I popped into Baylis yesterday to discuss this topic, the sales person emailed their manager to find out, hopefully I'll get a response today.

I was told 'The End of the year latest' - but anything after 04/12/22 would be 12m after the initial application.

A hypothetical concern right now, but will certainly start getting twitchy the more into October/November it gets.

The car being £2,500 more expensive than when I ordered it would be frustrating to say the least (I certainly feel for all the Vanarama customers here getting the shaft), but I guess it's still considerably less than what it would cost me now (sans sunroof too).

Will share any worthwhile news I get from the dealer about this here.

Interesting, yeah let us know what happens.

I have next to Zero confidence my January 22 order will turn up by January 23.

Question will be how much more money will they want...

Ordered in march 22 from a broker who said they have a delivery for September.

Follow up today that the car is on the way and is on the ship and should be here at the end of the month for a September delivery.

How do I check they are telling me the truth

You can't.

But it will be interesting to see if they pull that off.
