Say Hello

Hi all, been on for a little while and never got round to posting in here, currently waiting for my ZS LR Trophy to appear, but managed to get a MG5 SR as an ex demo car with only 24 miles on the clock.
Only 24 miles what they demo the radio😃.
Great choice of car colour 🤣

Thanks, they got it as a new demo just as the LR version arrived at the dealership so it sat in the corner until they could sell it on, absolutely loving it, only sticking with my ZS because of the larger range, sun roof and most importantly for my kids slightly bigger rear seat space!

Richard from Birkenhead UK, I really wanted a long range ZS Trophy, but of course with the supply problems this year there just weren't any when I was looking. Frustratingly, when nearly new or ex demos appeared they were either SR Trophy or LR SE, either of which would have annoyed me for different reasons. Thankfully I managed to secure a LR MG5 Exclusive that a dealer had coming into stock for a March 2022 registration, not usually what I would go for but it's ok enough for now and a great way into electric motoring. This is my fourth MG - having had a Rover Metro and Rover 45 in the past, I later went for an MG ZR, followed by two MG3s, then a Kia Niro PHEV to get used to plugging in before moving onto the 5. The Niro was used and the most I could afford at the time, I'd also temporarily fallen out of love with MG as the 3 was quite unreliable, otherwise I would have gone for an MG HS PHEV. But we're back in love again now so it's all good. Would love an MG4 but we'll have to wait a few years, and there will probably be more shiny new things about by then :):):)

Hi
I took delivery of a red MG ZS LR a couple of weeks ago after waiting 6 months. I previously had a Kona Premium. A very nice car but written off by a lorry on the M1 after only 2 weeks. I've found the MG comparable or better than the Kona in most areas and I really like the sunroof. I've found only a couple of niggles with the car. One the entertainment system comes on with power-up and two the wing mirrors can't be parked when driving. After my brush with the lorry I decided the first thing I would do is fit a dashcam. I have a Nextbase 622GW front and rear camera which works fine powered from the USB socket in the rear mirror console. The camera powers off with the vehicle so it probably doesn't give parking cover, also, I don't think it will provide a Bluetooth connection.

All is good, welcome to the MG club.
Just as an aside I'm curious as to why anybody would want to park their wing mirrors whilst travelling at speed.

Depends on your definition of speed.
Not much call at 100mph but it can make all the difference when squeezing through a restricted gap at low speed.

Hello all 👋
My order is in as of today.. for a MG EV Trophy..in pearl black.

So.. only another 365 sleeps until it arrives! 🤨

I’m here because the govt are extending the ULEZ zone to encompass Heathrow, where I work, which my current 2011 330d would attract a £12.50 charge.. so I had to make the change.. which tbh I should’ve done sooner.. (missed out on the govt grant)

I’m also here to pick up tips and tricks for being a EV owner/driver.. as this is a brave new world for me !

I welcome any advice anyone has to offer..

Anyway.. glad to be here.

the waiting begins.. ⏰

Regards
Marc

Weclome to the club,
At least you have time to get a smart EVSE charge point and a page of apps to A find places to charge and B to start, confirm or pay for a charge.

A future welcome to the MG club.
Isn't it the Mayor of London and TFL, not the Govt, that is in charge of the ULEZ zone.

You’re right.. it is the Mayor of London who’s in charge of the ulez zone and all other charges for drivers in London.. I have a habit of lumping all of them under “govt” .. and to quote Capt Kirk…

“KHHAAAAAAN!”

Hello everyone.

I've ordered a MG4 Trophy LR today, this will be my first EV.

I have had Toyota's since 2006 so it'll make a change to have something else!

Hi everyone.

I've been lurking for a while as I wasn't sure if my new car would ever arrive but had the email today to say my new MG5 LR Exclusive will be delivered to me on 6 September!

Feeling very excited (but also a little bit scared!) I've always had Fords before so this is going to be a bit different! I'm sure I'll be fine though with all you helpful people to fall back on!
