Local to me a garage has a 70 plt sr Excite in white with 63k on the clock for £19999,
would you buy it ? Or run for the hills

IMHO that's hugely overvalued. New that should be about £25k at most, and it's far from new at approx 2 years old with quite a few miles so I'd expect £16-17k. But it's a sellers market so they are trying it on.
Edit: I'd have no problem with the mileage if it's in good condition.

There was a black cat S one on auto trader last week same age and price , it being cat S I wouldn’t touch with a barge pole as insurance companies are funny about those now a days

Auto trader is a bit strange saying it is £1,126 below market average BUT 52,790 miles above average so how is that a true average price?

There's the expected wear on the driver's seat and pedals, but looks good otherwise. I'd want to know what it was used for, probably airport taxi or similar.

Bear in mind the standard (consumer) warranty won't be valid if it has been used as a taxi.

I can't help but feel that this car is significantly too expensive. 63k mls is roughly 5 yrs of average use; it will have been about £22,000 when purchased new; it might have voided it's mfrs warranty and it does show wear. Plus you have no way of knowing how the battery has been treated.

Bearing the above points in mind I would say a more realistic price is between £10-£12,000.

and only if it degrades below 70% capacity.

I use mine for commuting so around 18k/year. At 5 years old it will probably be out of warranty, but hopefully still have enough value to put forward into the next one. EVs should retain their value for higher mileage than ice.

Im guessing the high price on this one is the 'I need it now' tax as pretty much everything is on a years waiting list and Sadiq is trying to push the ULEZ all the way to the M25, if I still had my diesel I would be getting very twitchy.

"If" that was a company car doing 5 days a week for 19 months (less holidays) you'd be looking at roughly 1000 miles a week.
I do that some weeks but by no means all the time. I've done 35k in one year which would put my car at about 55k at 19 months and I reckon 65k would be doable but you'd have no life outside of work. It might have been a company owned taxi, driven night and day? The back seat would be a tell there I think, how worn/dirty is it.

/edit, my car is absolutely well cared for, serviced when it should be and driven carefully so don't be put off by the mileage, but do try to find out who and what the previous owners were.
