Hi guys now the cooler weather is coming in I have noticed the interior windows are constantly fogging up. Not to insult anyone but I have used various different cleaners to ensure the windows are spick and span so know the glass is clean and I know how to use the hvac system etc. it just seems no matter what setting is used the windows steam up again and again. Someone has suggested a new pollen filter. Just curious if anyone has experienced this issue?

There is a whole thread devoted to this on Gen1 so will give you the various ways of sorting this out. I ran Gen1 and now Gen2 with air on on all year round (always have done whatever the car) so problem has not revealed itself.

If you run the car in Eco mode then the a/c is not activated. It only operates in the Normal mode. Could that be the answer to the misting windows? I know that in my Dino-juice car the windows mist up when a/c is not running.

I'm sorry but I don't agree. The air conditioning on my car does run in eco mode, and as a matter of interest the heating works well in eco mode as well despite what many have said.

Are you sure the AC is actually working though ?
AFAIK the light on the switch just means it's selected and will operate when the system chooses.
Interestingly though, my heating doesn't seem to be affected by ECO mode, it feels the same as in Normal mode. The AC on the other hand doesn't seem to cool at all in ECO.
I just stick to Normal mode anyway and rely on my control of my right foot for economical driving.

Hmm it's "dumb" a/c though not "climate"? so it should be working all the time the switch is "on"?

I own a 2021 ZS EV and I can assure you that the aircon works perfectly in ALL driver modes, including ECO. No question about it.

Of course I DO KNOW that the air con IS working.

Yes it does, but in Eco mode you will not be able to reach the maximum cabin heat ( if required ) inside of the car.
Electric cabin heater elements are hungry and consume a lot of power directly from the HV traction battery, the heater blower fan on the other hand is powered by the 12 volt battery.
If you do intend to try and maximise your HV battery range by using HVAC in Eco mode, then FULL cabin heat will not be available for this very reason.
Full HVAC heat is achievable in both normal and sport modes though.

I find it a bit funny but on this forum I keep being told that pretty-much whatever I say won't/doesn't work.

All I can say is that this morning at about 7:30 am my wet dogs got in the car and immediately fogged up all the windows. I selected the windscreen demist button and within seconds all the glass was clear.

That's all I need really, in ECO mode ...

You are not incorrect, what you are saying is right.
It will clear the windows fine, it’s just that FULL / MAX cabin heat can not be obtained in Eco mode.

I'd imagine hitting windscreen demist automatically overrides any system limits to try and demist the windows - It could be dangerous not to. This could include overriding Eco mode limits. Feel free to test - Look at current draw on Eco mode demist, and normal mode demist. I'm quite curious.

what makes you SO SURE ? 🙄
Kithmo, I'm sure you are knowledgeable, but please don't treat me as an idiot. It's pretty obvious that my air con is working when the air coming through the vents is several degrees colder than outside ambient temperature. (Even in the recent heatwave.) Therefor I do know that my air con is working when the car is in Eco mode. Possibly yours doesn't, maybe the software in your car is different or maybe there is a defect in your car.

That's a good point. It would make sense to turn it all on full to demist/defrost even....

Make sure that the air is coming from outside and not recirculated.

First cold morning with new Gen2 my windscreen was fully misted up when I got in the car.

Changed to the air coming from outside and not had the same issue since.

Have it set to recirculate only moves the moist air around the cabin.

Give it a go

Unless the a/c is "on" then that moisture is removed...
