Ceramic Coatings

That's why we need the silver version - throw some water over it when you can't see out of the windows, job done. Paintwork will never look any different 😉

I bought a ceramic product off Amazon, $nz50, and did my BYD when new. That took about three hours, the result is good. Cleaning is easy which a soft brush, wash 'n wax then a microfibre towel to finish, the car comes up as new with very little effort involved. The technique with the microfibre cloth is to lay it out flat on the washed panel then slowly drag it off using only the weight of the towel.

I’m the polar opposite to you lot, I’m a car guy and take care of my cars from a mechanical / servicing perspective, but trying to keep paintwork and interior as good as factory is a fruitless task and just not worth the stress ( I’ve had new cars for the last 10 years and tried it with the first 2, but both were damaged by other people anyway…….)

My MG4 came with swirl marks and it’s already been for its £5 hand car wash, I embrace the micro scratches nowadays ha.

If you dont want the hassle of a full ceramic coating have a look at something like Gtechniq ceramic wash which leaves a very nice finish and helps keeps the car clean for a good couple of months.
Isnt the nicest shampoo to use but it does leave a good shine.

Anyone any experience with ceramic paint coatings? Wondering if it would make it easier to clean my black trophy. Which does tend to show the water marks after a wash
From my experience, I would say they can be worth it, especially if you keep your car outside and not in a garage, and do mainly urban and/or motorway driving. I had a ceramic coating applied (by a professional detailer) to my last car and it definitely made the paint easier to keep clean and look good for the 5 years I had the car. Definitely worth doing your research on the coating beforehand, and the preparation of the paint is essential if the coating is going to work well and last. A detailer will usually charge more than having a coating applied by the dealer when you purchase the car, but the chances are the paint preparation by a detailer will be considerably better and the coating of high quality.

I'm considering this. I'm not the type to do a regular wash etc . Will a ceramic coating give me more cushion?

Got my ceramic coat applied today, really makes the metallic in the black pop.

Thanks, thought about removing the covers, but there's a range drop if you do about 5% apparently. Next step will get the glass coated, maybe

3% some say. About 236 miles instead of 230

You'd be surprised what knowledge and some decent sealants do. This is my ND, taken in Feb, so hardly the most flattering light, and not just washed either

In April of 'Covid', but hardly the best lighting

I want to get this done with my black! Looks really nice! Any close up of the metallics? Out if interest how much was the cost and we’re any of the plastic bits (gloss trim & lightbar) treated? They look fantasticly clean and shiny!
Paint work only. Will get some closer pics tomorrow and post. Car still in studio under heaters curing ceramic coat. Despite being a new car, all paint had to be slightly corrected before application. £580 for a very pro finish. Is it worth it...... ?? For me yes

My car has been with my Local detailer, Custom Detailing. for their new car detail and application of Gyeon Q² INFINITE. It's a two-day process so due to pick it up later today. He has put a guess-what-car video online, What car is this (he might get some correct answers from this forum :ROFLMAO:). From what I can see in the video I am looking forward to seeing the results. I will post some pictures later.

You need to reply just with "my

I'd be so tempted just to reply with "My one"

Looking forward to seeing the pics as I have the same one on order due next week.
