Hi all,

The manual says this about the ZS EV Lane Assist System:

The system will be activated when the following detection conditions are met:
• The function is switched ON,
• Vehicle speed is above 37mph (60 km/h),
• Lane line markings are clear and the system recognises at least one lane line.

My question is - when the system is on, but the above conditions are NOT met, should I have the lane assist icon lit yellow in the display, or should it not be there at all? Mine’s yellow, but I thought when I first got the car, it was not there (despite the feature being switched on). Thanks.

Yellow means on but not active, if you push the ACC stalk fully forward it will disappear. If you want to activate the full features of MG Pilot the the speed must be set and then a double pull of the ACC stalk towards you will activate lane following as well as ACC.

Thanks very much!

Hi again, I’m still not convinced all is as it should be. With ACC stick fully forward, it’s still on…

Seems like from your description, the first one is not as it should be? (All the above with the car stationary by the way)

Yes I got the first bit wrong, lane keep assist has to be switched off in the settings menu it's still active as a safety feature all the time. I've turned the sensitivity to low and it just gives yeo a gentle reminder with the steering wheel to prompt you to look where you are going. On max it was a cyclist killer yanking the wheel back when you tried to cross the line to pass.

Or in my case, where there were no white lines on a country road, the system getting confused and yanking the steering wheel right trying to pull me in-front of a hgv on a narrow road. 😬

I understood that if you used your indicator when crossing the centre line to overtake, the LKA wouldn’t be activated?

Lane assist is super strong and frequently wrong, when I went over a bridge with one of the lanes half closed by a barrier it strongly tried to force me into the barrier multiple times.

Try overtaking without indicating and it tries to pull you into the car you're overtaking.

Does anyone know if it is the same system as used on the HS PHEV? I had one as a rental in France last week and the LKA/ACC combo worked beautifully over 500km of autoroute.
My ZS is due in a few weeks so really hoping it works exactly the same.

My lane keep assist works perfectly, nine times out of ten. But jokes aside, I have found it good where the lanes are clear - I have it on highest sensitivity. It makes driving on the open highway much more relaxing. I only use it on freeways or highways though. It does not seem to mess me about changing lanes so long as I am indicating.
