Whilst a hat tip must be given to those taking the time to construct and undertake said podcast, after enduring 48 pages (and counting) of an MG4 gearbox oil leak issue thread, the thought of watching a podcast on it, well, urges me to observe the paint drying in my dinning room, instead.

4ND, it is not just about the oil leak, it covers a number of subjects which some find useful. Each to their own. P.s what is a dinning room....if interesting I may watch paint drying there:D

I'm not sure. It might, just might be a typo version of the more familiar dining room  I might have to get an interior designer to check though.
Either way, think of it as a kind of alternative space to enjoy, if the the thought of watching a podcast discussing a gearbox oil leak issue, currently at 48 pages on a connected forum, is just a little it too exciting to handle.

I know what you mean, but many of the comments on the thread are conjecture and hyperbole with a deficiency of information from MG about what is causing the issue and the proposed steps to resolve,

I guess many people would hope that Miles might have some inside information about leaks and undertray?

Many might also be interested to hear if there is any more info on likely release dates and prices of the AWD version of the MG4 but we might be a bit early for that.

I agree, much of what we've heard is conjecture, and most of the actual information that people have got from dealers seems to be inconsistent.

Miles is very brave doing this podcast, unless he's just going to plead "no comment" throughout! It would be unfair to expect him to comment on other dealers (and on MG in general), but a lot of people's issues seem to be:

- oil leaks - MG are playing this down, saying that it's only isolated cases, and it's not that serious anyway. Dealers are giving conflicting advice (opinions) to customers, which has lead to people speculating and worrying.

- undertray bulge - I believe that MG are playing this down too, but there does seem to be an awful lot of people on this forum who have this issue.

- confusion over expected order times and delivery - my dealer has always been quite clear that MG doesn't tell them a lot about what MG4s they can expect and when, so they don't seem to know much more than we do half the time! Reading through this forum, it does seem like a lot of dealers are playing this differently, and are over promising and underdelivering, which gets people annoyed and confused.

I'm a current ZS EV driver, soon to take delivery of an Orange Trophy MG4, hopefully by the end of November, which I'm very excited about. This forum is a brilliant resource for helpful information, but sometimes I wish that I hadn't found it and that I was just waiting for my MG4 in blissful ignorance of the issues, especially as I'm a natural worrier!!

Unless the car was designed to leak oil ( and I doubt this very much ) then it’s IS an issue !.
Playing it down as a small leak maybe classed as “Not Serious” on an ICE model, as the engine has a huge oil sump reserve to fall back on.
A little difference on a EV with transmission case capacity of only 0.7 - 0.9 litres of oil I might suggest.

Quite right. Losing oil is neither good for the vehicle or the ground on which it stands.

BTW according to the cap I have seen the fill level is 710 ml ;)

I think dealers know nothing until they can actually notified by MG on the day - then they pass that on to you, the customer. I think whats confusing is that, some people seem to think they know their car is on a particular transport ship and that gives off the impression they are privy to more information that the vast majority of us. Unless MG are telling dealers that customer X has their car loaded onto ship Y, then I think everyone is just guessing.

I am just willing to bet, that somebody will ask a question on the forum, in the next few days, that was raised and answered on the Monday night pod cast.
You wait ! - It is going to happen🫤.
Oh …… I have a question to myself, on my choice of viewing for tonight.
Is it at all likely I am going to tune into that usual repetitive crap like “East Enders” and watch somebody else get beaten up / killed ( like every single week ) or …….. on the flip side.
Is it more likely I am going to tune into the pod cast, where I can listen and engage with other like minded / friendly / helpful EV fan’s and have a bit of friendly banter along the way and maybe learn something beneficial ?.
Difficult what do you think folks 🤔………??.
But, before you pick what I am likely to consider, then bare this fact in mind.
I have NEVER subjected myself to watching any of them programs that they term as “soap operas”.
The brief ( but too long ) 20 second violent & aggressive “click bate” clips they run, are MORE than enough for me.
Thank you very much !.
To be honest, I would rather poke myself in the eye with a sharp stick, than subject myself to watching that totally depressing sh*t* 😱.
Then it would be impossible to watch it 🤣.
After the program, do they run one of those :- “If you have been affected by any items covered in this program, then contact the following support groups”.
Because they should !!!.
Oh well …. I think they call it “freedom of choice”.
Each to there own as usual I guess folks.
See you on the pod cast ( bit of a spoiler alert on my choice of watching pleasure tonight 🤣 ).

Maybe the biggest internet meltdown ever?

Conversely, I wonder what the chances are of someone on the podcast answering a question/surmising an answer to a question (or asking a question) which has been repeated ad nauseam within 49 pages of a connected forum thread.

The oil leak issue needs discussing, but I think we may be a bit early for any satisfying word from MG. Any official response would already be out there.
I think the contributions in the chat from people who have experienced the issue may be worth watching the podcast for.

Hi @Stuart Wright .
I am not a MG4 man myself, more of your ZS EV type 🤣.
However, as an addicted member of the group and by what I am reading, the info coming out of MG to this issue, is very different from one dealer to the next.
I firmly believe that THIS is where the frustrations are likely to be coming from.
A lot of :- “Well my dealer tell’s me this” type of affair.
Miles will I am sure hopefully clarify and offer some clear guidance with regards to the official line on this subject please 🙏.
Thanks Stu and the gang for putting on the pod cast tonight.
I somehow feel it will be a good turn out ?.
Don’t forget to LIKE folks 👍.
