We’re sorry to all those customers affected by the MG manufacturing supply chain delays. Following our posts on this forum explaining the situation, we wanted to assure you that we continue to do everything we can to get more information and minimise the inconvenience caused.

We also appreciate that for some, this situation comes with the added complexity of having a charge point fitted. Our policy regarding the charge points has not changed since our post on August 15th, stating that we will only charge £350 for the charge points fitted for MG ZS orders that are in the process of being cancelled. This is in recognition of the inconvenience caused which we believe is a fair compromise for anyone looking to cancel their order with us, and hopefully demonstrates our willingness to be fair and reasonable.

We are contacting all our customers directly each month to confirm the information as we have it, and we continue to liaise with MG and pass on any new information they can provide as soon as we have it.

Fair would be not to try to increase your prices for orders which you have agreed to, in order to force people to cancel. By doing this, it appears to many that you are trying to force people to cancel the lower priced details, in order to sell the cars at the newer, higher prices.

Separately, I don't think there was anything on the website, terms or other documents that I received which indicated that this price was subject to a grant, so it was a bit of a surprise to get a call with two options:

1. Pay a much higher price compared to what was agreed (LOSE)
2. Cancel your order, and pay for the Charger which was included free with the deal which Vanarama are unable to deliver (LOSE)

(I appreciate there is bias in this post, but Vanarama need to look beyond their profits, and see it from their customers' perspective)
 
According to vanarama MG has not been able to source any parts and has yet to build any cars at all otherwise they would be first in line to receive these

Any cars you see on this forum or on roads are not from MG china and dont be fooled by rumors of cars being delivered

They are hoping for us to go away and leave them alone

Strange that they said this (as it is obviously crazy BS) - I had a Vanarama employee confirm that they know other suppliers (dealer purchases and leases) have received them, even orders after mine (November 2021).
 
I was told when the deadline wa sbeing extended to April that dont worry about it, we are being promised by MG deliveries will start in November and all backlog orders for Vanarama will be delivered by Feb 2023 and April is just worste case scenario

Now the tone seems to be we dont think April is a possibility, you have the best deal on planet earth so be happy even if you dont have a car and MG has not produced any cars otherwise you would have one by now
 
I'm now in another queue for a cupra formentor ehybrid (plug in so I can still use my as of yet unused wall charger!) . Delivery est. March 2023. Also been delayed from original estimate of October. Batch originally ordered by lease company early 2022. Let's see which comes first 😂 not just mg with delays. The cupra forum has a thread identical to this about delays with build times. I figure I'm doubling my chances of getting a car in 2023 and with no cancellation fee, no disadvantage really.

Totally agree with that approach although i am looking at an ICE older car if i lose the grant, dont want to pay so much and not own anything at the end taking unit cost price into consideration
 
Hello everybody,

For those of you still waiting for their orders on the MG ZS EV I have some bad news I’m afraid.

One of my close friends is a Sales Manager for the new vehicle department of an MG dealer. He has informed me that Vanarama have lost their allocation of all MG ZS EVs. I’m sure that Vanarama will start contacting everyone (including me who ordered back in October 2021)

To add more weight to this, I work for a leasing company called Hippo Motor Group. I ordered with Vanarama as their deal was massively cheaper than the company I work for could offer me. I received an email today at work making me aware that we have a supplier who have 8 SE long range in stock and ready to go.

This confirms that other dealers and suppliers are getting the vehicles and Vanarama are simply not being supplier by MG at all. The fact I have been waiting 13 months for mine with 6 months left to go as per Vanaramas latest update basically confirms this also.

I will be getting in contact with Vanarama directly to demand answers.

But sadly by the sounds of it, all of you including me will never get your order. Any updates to this I will post in this forum.

I'm sure Vanarama will say it's not true and that they are in MGs no1 customer.

Going to love to wait what rubbish and broken promises they push for this black friday
 
I'm looking forward to hearing the response you get from Vanarama, I can't understand how or why they would loose the allocation when we have individual order numbers from MG. Also if they have lost the ability to supply these cars why are they still advertising them on their site? I've been in touch with MG within the week and they are saying it's down the shortages and them doing batches of the same spec. I have argued this and am awaiting another response. Can't understand why they wouldn't tell me my order is not going to be honoured!? On the other hand an above 12 month wait is very suspicious, hard to fathom why they are getting no cars when everyone else is, we've ordered the same specs and combination as others!
 
We already know that MG are ditching this version of the ZS in early 2023 and will be launching a newer face lift version.

So there will be a point early 2023 that uncompleted orders wont happen infact have mg gone back to building the ZS with sunroofs at all as per original specs?
 
Facelift is enough reason for them to ask for more money or cancel orders. If we dont receive ours by that point than there is no way they will honour this. I am surprised finance houses have not already asked for more yet after interest rate changes

Following some incorrect information posted on this forum yesterday, we want to reassure customers that currently no Vanarama orders have been cancelled by MG. We have confirmed this directly with MG today.

The reason for stock appearing as new stock from other suppliers is customer-cancelled orders being reallocated.

Once again, we are extremely sorry for the inconvenience we know this is causing. We are working to do all we can, and we are in regular contact with MG to ensure we get our customers the most accurate and up-to-date information as soon as we have it.

Does this mean any other information posted on the forum IS accurate if you haven't been on here and corrected it?

For example a while back someone said they had been told by you that the cost of the charger will be waived as a gesture of goodwill if the car isn't here in time for this grant extension until May? Due to the inconvenience caused.

Surely all customers should be treated equally in this regard....

I contacted MG a week ago and gave them my order number and they said there is still no build date for my car. ZS EV SE LR in black ordered November.
