Nov 17th Budget - Tax impact for EVs

OK, gloves off. Proper cars eh? Well as we're going all childish, why not... ;)

So would they be the ones that actually look like cars rather than something from a children's cartoon, and don't win awards for being amongst the most hideously ugly cars ever made?

Unlike your comedy Juke car perhaps? Behold!!  🤮 🤮🤮

Just for you, we could refer to yours as a JUICE car? (Just Ugly Internal Combustion Engine)

That's a bit much now.
The Juke is indeed ugly but I still think the Fiat Multipla and the Pontiac Aztek have it beaten in the ugly stakes. :D

It is a bit much, but the troll deserves it. You're right about the other 2, I reckon the Juke comes in a close second, just beating the Aztec to be fair ;)

Hi, Hope your day is getting a little better after your outburst.

1) My initial remark- one which seems to have caused you to lose control of your emotions, and in another post, resort to petty name calling, was made in humour. This is a definition of what that means, for your clarification: https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/humour

2) We recall fondly the last time you partook in conversation with me: 'No need to waste any more time debating with you then.'
Tip: Consistency and holding true to one's word are good things.

Finally 3) 'Unlike your comedy Juke car perhaps?' You may have to liaise with my dog and ask her to enrol upon the forum. The car is her car, not mine, and hence I cannot speak on her behalf regarding her feelings on that particular car's looks.

Really ? That's your response as a mature adult.
Referencing cars by their means of propulsion is too much for you to cope with and you find it 'amusing', but referring to them as "proper cars" is your sensible approach to their nomenclature ? Which also leaves the meaning fully open to interpretation, if people don't hold the same view as you.
Hi,
It was mild humour. Maybe look up what that means if you're not sure

You're opening remark in your previous post was very apt: 'Not to kick off any sort of argument again' (P.S that was a bit of humour again :) )

How far behind is this?
I mean, I don't mind the MG4, but arguing against another car based on 'looks' is quite amusing in this case :)

Outburst, you're hilarious. Oh, and I'm not debating with you, you misunderstand.

Ok getting back to the subject of the thread Makes no bloody sense at all no the VED on pure EVs no matter which way you look at it and there are thousands of these about.

Another place another time.
VED at £0 for EVs should stay at that 'price' (£0) for it. It's not fair to buy a car when £0 was an incentive, only then to charge later on. Just like that car above stays £10 for its life. Whatever the flat rate is (£165 now) should apply to NEW electric cars from April '24 onwards.
However, one could argue that if 90% of cars don't have their VED rate constant throughout their life (meaning, the £165 I pay on the three cars in my family will no doubt be £5-10 higher next year), why should any car?
Mind you, ~90% of new car buyers 'buy' their cars on finance 'deals', so even if they're spared this time around, by the time they 'buy' 'their' next car, it'll be EV tax time.

I know this up turning over old soil, but I do find this video to have some very meaningful points on VED and how dirty oil burners will be cheaper to tax than a zero emission EV going forward !.
Which is a totally crazy situation.

Hi Jeff not sure but is this the video you are writing about as I don’t see one attached to your posting, if not please let me know and I will remove it. If it is I totally agree madness makes no sense at all.
Les.
