Charge Port Over Temperature

Defo looks like an App Bug, I am on Version 1.1.7 and its 2c Baltic outside! So any overheating would be good!!

Charged overnight as per usual. When I checked my mg app to see if it was done I clicked on battery management section to see a red message saying Charger port overheating. See photo. Anyone else had this before?
Yes!....I got exactly the same after charging overnight. Nothing showing on dashboard and charges perfectly at dealer on rapid charger. They are going to check it out....BUT I HAVE TO TAKE CAR TO THEM (45 MILES AWAY) AND LEAVE IT WITH THEM FOR A FEW DAYS....AND NO COURTESY CAR!

I would suggest not bothering. Its clearly an app issue common to all and nothing actually wrong with the car itself.

ever since the update with the red warning wordings charge port overheating and high temperature which prevent me to fast charge my MG ZS EV LR each time in the last few days. I can charge normally with slow charge 7KW but not with CCS 50KW.

The thing is it was a app update not a car software update the bugs are in the app not the car should have no effect on the car itself

Also to me seems to be an apparent bug in the phone app. I have the overheating message even when not charging :D

I’ve gone to a fast charge station twice today, both times the car stopped charging at 78% and the app gives the error that the charge port is over heated. I doubt a bug in the app itself is causing the car to stop charging. Find this very odd. Tried putting it in a slower charge but it wouldn’t continue charging.

The error is in the app before you started charging a lot of rapid chargers stop as they slow down normal 80 or 90% but now its colder 78% would not worry me

If so then I think it’s very worrying to me that a bug in the accompanying app could be controling critical functions of the car’s software in this way. Especially when the app is not even in use.

No the app is not affecting the charge maybe the cold only dc it should not effect ac could your slider be set down?

It’s been a 7C day today opposed to 0C the last week when the same rapid charge stations were used without a problem.

Yippee! No more Red Letters on the charge screen 🥳

Well my app is reporting an over heating charge port and high temps. However the cars not charging and no problems are flagged inside the car.
Anyone else had this issue with the app? Or the car for that matter!

Have you looked at the thread right on the ZS front page?:

Thanks. Just spotted it

I'm on version 1.1.6 and not getting this notice. Are there any vital reasons to update to 1.1.7?
I had the same problem but just checked and there's a new update 1.1.8 ! I've just updated from 1.1.7 to 1.1.8 and it seems to have fixed the problem !

Looking like a new problem last few days
My MGZSEV 2022 is brand new. This happened to me as well. I’m very grateful for this page as I didn’t know what I should do- it’s obviously a glitch in the latest version of the app that MG will have to fix. Fortunately, I was able to charge regardless like others have been able to do as well. Though there was a default setting in scheduled charging on the app which I luckily discovered and changed before charging could start! Phew.
