Blind spot warning staying on for both mirrors

I have just come back down the M1 after visiting my parents. About half way back when stuck in traffic both blind spot alert lights came on and stayed on. I am hoping that after a rest, when I turn the car back on they will have gone off and reset themselves. Has anyone else had this issue and how did you resolve it?
 
Had the same on collection day !.
We had traveled about 80 miles from the dealer and my wife noticed that the blind spot monitoring orange warning light in the passengers door mirror, had suddenly come on !.
I checked the drivers mirror and it was the same.
Both lights had taken it on themselves to come on and stay on !.
They had been fine for about 80 miles, then both came on.
About 10 miles latter and they where STILL on.
We stopped to grab some lunch, and when locking the car, they both went out.
We returned to car about 35 minutes later and both had reset themselves.
This has only happened once in seven months and 7,000 miles.
A software glitch I assume.
Yours should reset automatically after leaving the car for about one hour, to be safe, I would say.

I love how you just accept these little "glitches" and move on @Lovemyev.
I'm of the same frame of mind myself with any technology, it seems as if the car is alive and testing our affections, if we panic and worry about it, it will get worse, if we accept it for what it is, a glitch, it settles down. ;)

As you get older @Kithmo the expression "Life Is Too Short" really seems to take on a REAL meaning somehow 🤣.
We still continue to refer to these things, that get us from "A to B" as cars ?.
But a very loosely used word for them these days, especially in the case of EV's !.
In fact, they are more like computers on the move that look a bit like a car !.
It is generally though that EV's are generally more reliable, due to a lot less working parts etc.
Although this true in principal, we have to take stock of the fact that we are at the total mercy of the software working 100% correctly, 100% of the time !.
ICE cars have had many many many years to perfect there art, but EV's are still climbing that steep learning curve.
I am pretty sure there has been a time, where we have all reached for the CNTL-ALT-DELETE buttons on our older computers, when the computer say's - NO !.
This is how I view these glitches to be honest, a CNTL-ALT-DELETE button on the dash would be brilliant ! 🤣.
As long as these glitches are only a minor temporary thing and can be corrected by a simple reboot, then I can sleep okay at night.
When I worked at a large dealership many many years ago, we had a small number of the same customers that would knocking on the door, almost once every two to four weeks.
Complaining of one thing or another, but rarely the same thing strangely enough ?.
Okay, some where genuine problems, but a lot of the time, they where issues that we could not even replicate with customer sitting alongside us.
But they would absolutely insist that we stripped a inner door panel etc to investigate a rattle that he was convinced came from inside that door !.
After seeing these cars reappear again, almost every two to four weeks ( and never for the same problem ) likely because the car was still within the 12 month warranty, but trust me, it had more problems latter than it first started with, because it had SO much work done looking for the customer complaint !.
You just have to learn what and when you should push and when you should leave well alone !.
Starting with one problem and ending up with two new problems can be a result.
Even today, it's difficult to switch off sometimes as an X Tech when travelling in another car.
We where travelling in a Taxi a few weeks ago and there was rattle coming from the O/S/R.
My wife turns to ME and said :- "Is that one of the rear shockers rattling away there".
I slight nod of the head from myself.
I am totally to blame here, as this is as direct result of spending too many Saturday nights working until 11.00pm with me on my cars in the past.
I just hate the whole idea of submitting my cars in for service or repair, because 90% of the time it is likely to be confrontational if I get the slightest wiff of any B/S in the air.
When dealing with a new service department for the first time, I will tend to drop it into the conversation early, that I am a X Tech myself and I will require a line by line break down of the work content on the job sheet, when collecting my car and will want to inspect any parts that have been replaced ( excluding oil and oil filter on an ICE car of course ).
This request is usually meet with a slight pause in the conversation, followed by a ........ "Oh ....... I will get somebody with more experience to go through the work content then ".
I see this as my opening chance then to speak to somebody from the workshop department.

Totally agree, being an ex AA patrol. We used to get the same people ringing up for the slightest problem and some with the same problem after we had got them home on the premise that they were going to get it fixed themselves.
I find with anything computerised, as software and hardware gets faster and more complicated the problems that arise don't go away but also get more complicated and occur faster.
