I smart app

I looked at the HVAC settings on the app this morning and these are the 2 possibilities, warm up driver/passenger and temperature control. Is there not a windscreen defrost setting that I'm missing? I thought I'd seen that on someone's app photos before.

I haven't got my car yet, so I haven't tried binding iSmart to it yet (Duh!), but I have set up my account on it ok, but does anyone else find that when attempting to enter a nickname (My Profile > My Information > Nickname) that it only displays a numeric keypad, no alphabet.
I am not a number! (anyone else old enough to remember that?) :)

No, I registered the app via my email. The place where it keeps forgetting my phone number is in the My Profile > My Information > Mobile field.
When I try that and add my mobile (Country code, then mobile number without the leading 0) then it states that a verification code will be sent ... unless that code is received and entered (and this is the non-email registration route) then the number is never saved. That's the same problem I've always had with the app, and why I registered by email in the first place. :)

Mine is exactly the same.

Exactly this. No verification code is ever sent.
I agree, it must be the same problem that means only email verification works.
Come on MG, its about time you hired some software engineers!!
 
I'm not aware of any windscreen defrost setting, however if you set the temp to about 25 degrees it does clear the windscreen in no time. Would be good to have a button for rear window/mirror demisting from the app.
I'm now watching Miles' instructional video re the app and, per my screen grab, you can see that his app is showing 2 extra buttons to mine, AC blowing and Front Window (presumably demist)!

So, I tried preheating this morning while plugged in and not charging, no dice. Then tried re starting charging from the app and I could enable preheating. That’s the first time this has worked for me. No wet slippers for me this morning. Progress.
I tried preheating mine while plugged in an not charging and it did start pre heating but it also started charging, even though it was well outside the schedule that was set. I then stopped it charging from the app and the heating stayed on (I did have to go out to check this). I'll maybe try again tomorrow morning and see what it decides to do then!

I’m locked out of my app now as I’ve forgot my password ( always happens when I can’t use a password manager on a app, too many passwords these days ) and the forgot password verification code is never sent.

What’s the work around for this ? Do I have to bind my vehicle again ?
 
The "bind" is just linking the car to an account. Once done it is the account that holds the password to link with the car via the app. You cannot reset that link and "rebind" the car easily. If you cannot get a reset link to work via sms or email then you probably need to consult your dealer imo
 
FWIW on my Android phone the password is auto-prompted for me - the phone's in-built password manager handles this for me.

And myself and backed up and written in a secure file and written on stone tablets buried in a pyramid in a country I shall not disclose even if you make me sand dance on a camels back in the soaring heat of the desert

Life with an MG4 is full of surprises.
So much so I'm getting less surprised every day!

I tried preheating again today with the charge cable still plugged in but not charging. As before, it started the heating and also started the car charging. This time when I used the app to stop the charge, the heating stayed on, the car stopped charging and then within 30 seconds started charging again. I stopped it charging twice more with the app and both times it did the same - stopped charging and then restarted again. It only stopped charging when I unlocked the car.
 
Downloaded the new version app yesterday overheating port now gone temp looks correct great checked this morning, now saying unable to connect to vehicle GPS, I give up 🤬🤬
 
I was getting problems connecting to the car last night - still the same this morning. These are usually MG server issues rather than anything to do with the car or app.

Re. GPS message - just do a Vehicle Status scan and that usually sorts it, even if the scan fails.
