HV battery shutoff when initiating rapid charge. Vehicle control system fault.

I must admit that I have not rapid charged my September TCLR yet. I have nearly 2k miles on home charging. Just trying to plan a day when I can have time for a possible flat truck eventuality. I had a Gen1 that bricked on my first rapid charge hence my nervousness.
Inspite of this I love the car and find any excuse to drive it within its its range.

Likewise. All my charging so far for the last 2 months has been on my home charger with no issues. I have a trip to see family in December which will require a rapid charge. I am planning on testing the local CCS charger in town.

Early on a Sunday morning 👍🏻

Did my first rapid charge yesterday on an Instavolt, just a splash and dash to get me home. This thread had worried me and I have a couple of long journeys this month.

Tapped my debit card, plugged in, pressed start and held my breath. Nothing happened and I thought I was stuffed, but pressed again and the charge started ( I pressed the start whilst it was still handshaking).

Tapped my card to finish and removed the plug with no problems. Phew!

Good to hear. Not tried my TCLR on rapid yet. Who was the supplier you used?

I'm looking for advice on managing the failure of our MG ZS Long Range to successful rapid charge without bricking. We bought it March 30th 2022. Out of 12 attempts, 4 failed and needed the AA to sort it ( first two flat load to dealers from West Wales, last 2 the AA managed to clear the faults with their diagnostics kit. Most of the time we trickle charge at home, ( Hampshire) no problem.
With this high failure rate it is obviously not fit for purpose. Do we ask for a replacement car that works or return yet again to the dealers for another software check, or ...?
And I can't find our Warranty certificate. All advice most welcome. Many thanks.

When charging at home can you unlock the car and remove the cable without having to stop the charge with car or app?

I take it that all software updated have been done, if you have kept the dealer up to date with the failed charge then you know which chargers the car has failed on so say to the dealer they come out with a laptop to check this out or you will looking into returning the car. If you have finance on the car speak with them to see if they can help.
