MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

OctopusEV have just informed me that MG have officially announced that they are prioritising other models over the MG ZS 😔 and are advising that I
1. Switch to the MG4 for Q1 delivery or
2. Rent a car in the mean time (I'm borrowing a van) for possible March delivery or
3. Cancel
Personally I cancelled my ZS order in November when I was told this as I do not think it will turn for Q3 next year. I am happy with my choice to cancel and get an MG5 Facelift. Worth checking out as much nicer than the pre-facelift version.

This is ridiculous!
I am a pensioner waiting to collect my Trophy LR tomorrow morning at 10am. I feel as childish and excited as I did more than 60 years ago waiting for 🎅 to come on Christmas Eve. I'm wandering around the house aimlessly. You'd have thought by now that I would have grown up.:giggle::giggle:

It's childlike, not childish. :) And don't you dare grow up, I haven't, and I don't intend to. :)

those mats are a bit unusual.
are they any good as they look like a heel would go straight through them
Having driven the car only 2 weeks I really do like these mats they stop anything getting on to original carpet as they wrap up the sides back & front. Will wait and see about wear, to be honest I'm not sure if ladies high heels would stand up to the material & I don’t wear them 😂😂

What about car mats are the MG ones okay or should i look elsewhere?
Finally picked up my free mats tonight , garage had them on back order , to answer your original question the quality look really good nice and thick with embroidered MG ZS logo in blue, both front mats have the fixing location holes that click on to floor to keep them in place. Will take some photographs and add once it’s day light.

Progress!
Brindley Fleet / Tusker have confirmed my ZS TLR (white) has been released from the factory. I assume shipping is the next step?
You would have thought so, but judging by the manufacturing date on the docs and the faded red warranty sticker in the back window mine was sat around for months outside before it ended up on a ship. Depends what 'released from factory means', I think that's a generic Tusker status...

Ordered my ZS LRC on 16 February 2022 just been talking to the dealer it’s down for delivery on 1st March 2023, just over 1 year so time will tell.

Mine should be coming around the same time also.

I'll wait until end of January and then check whether it's actually been built, which one would hope if it's being shipped in February. Let's hope they turn up!

Growing up is overrated

Collected my Trophy LR this morning. 😁 After about 25 miles, I am delighted with the way it drives. It is well worth the wait. I was blessed with free mats and a type 2 charging lead. However, there seems to be an issue with the navigation system which is addressed on another thread, so I hope to follow the advice through tomorrow. I'll post a piccy tomorrow, if the weather allows me to. 😁😁

From this evening's podcast, courtesy of @Miles Roberts CG :
The MG ZS EV wait/lead time has got to 18 months. And MG are no longer price protecting those cars, so if you have a car on order and it comes - you're going to get charged whatever the prevailing rate is at that time...
Listen in full for yourself here, at about 47 minutes in:

Well, after almost a year I finally have taken delivery of the car (Trophy Connect LR in white)!

Yesterday was a bit frustrating because the car was meant to arrive at 11am, however the dealership hadn't charged the car! So it ended up being delivered around 5pm.

However despite all the delays, lack of communication and everything else, the car is absolutely amazing and better than I remember from the test drive. So for anyone else waiting, it's worth it!

I'm going to miss being on this sub every day as part of my routine...

I am guessing they won't price protect any of the new orders as they have been set with an 18 month lead time.. but most of us who've been willing to just stick it out had ordered in good faith with a much shorter lead-time and MG just fluffed it.

What was supposed to be near to a 5 month one for us is turning into 13 or 14 months because of non-accurate scheduling so I would hope they hold the older orders as it wouldn't look great. The dealership we've used have been great, definitely MG themselves that appear lacking in transparency and communication with dealerships.

Just hoping their after-sales won't be as bad as their actual manufacturing promises when we eventually get ours. I just cannot afford to take the financial hit of backing out and re-ordering some other model/brand elsewhere.

Problem is that as it's a salary sacrifice scheme I can't afford an other car as the prices have gone up since and it would but me under minimum wage limit 😔
